The OP reported on a deleted (by Facebook) post, that’s seemingly been confirmed by two reporters - one of whom is well-known to anyone who reads CBC for their news.

If that was indeed his post, and as it appears that his victims were predominantly women, it doesn’t seem like a stretch to see those two facts as “related.”

Was it just a coincidence he posted what he was reported to have posted before murdering a bunch of people then asking to be killed?

I’m not saying this is THE smoking gun, but I can absolutely see why the media is pulling on this string.

Rule number 1 is that Incel is NOT connected to the Men's Rights Movement unlike what some asshole out lets have suggested.

I once posted to the Incel reddit before it was banned to suggest they hire sex workers and ironically they banned me. For the record I was trying to empower them, and show them they do have options, there there Celebacy wasn't as involunteer as they thought it will be.

I will say that its increasingly clear that legalizating sex work is vital to the mental health of a lot of people.

The Incel movement has issues with men and women though. That is the why men would also be a target. Not as much of a target but men who easily get sexy are frown on as well with this movement. The women are worse of course and the main target of their hate but they will equally take out a good looking man or whom they perceive as a man who can easily get sex and therefore are taking it away from them.

So the victims on the street were just a means to an end. There are witness who saw him try to target mostly women. But hey, if he got a few "chads" while going after the "Stacy's" then bonus.

The echo chamber is also magnified because instead of just celebrities appearing to live charmed lives, these guys see their neighbors, peers, friends, and co-workers seemingly living it too, in photos and videos posted to their social media accounts. They try to escape it but it's all around them. Even when they go on porn sites they see the same amateur Chads and Stacys fucking and sucking in porn videos and live on webcams, having fun, earning money, and winning at life. They buy into the facade that everyone with a social media account creates to increase their brand. This compounds the feelings of isolation, defeat, and failure of the incels. Meanwhile, the incels are saddled with debt, have palms hairier than their asses, are socially awkward, and have no genuine future prospects beyond the daily brown-nosing grind. This is what leads them to do what they feel is their only option - to pick up arms and go to war with the Chads and Stacys whose existence is their humiliation.

To put it in terms you should understand, these idiots blaming other people for not having relationships is no different than people blaming all their failures on racism. The "incells" need to wake up and figure out what problems they have that interfere in their lives.

Even the dumbest, ugliest, and poorest of the world can find meaningful relationships. Many autistic people do as well so it's not an excuse. People who want relationships but can't need to examine what personal issues they need to overcome be it simply shyness or something more significant.

Men who are vocal on behalf of their sex tend to be labelled women-haters faster than feminists get labelled man-haters. It's just the way the tide is right now. Events like this and the media coverage of it doesn't help.
Besides which, I don't think men should be advocating for men and women for women...that's part of the problem right there. Divisions. We should be advocating for individuals who need help, regardless of superficial divisions.

I agree with all of that. My point isn't about the Incel movement, it's about the media. They're not talking about the "Chads". They instantly latched on to misogyny as a motive. They've completely missed the point that you just made. Sexual frustration isn't gendered. He hated both women and men and blamed them both for his inability to get laid.

I think the real motive is that he was frustrated with the world. Sexual frustration was just one part of it and likely itself a symptom of his "mental condition". Whatever that mental condition he had was probably frustrated him as well, and IMO had more of a role in how he ended up in a dark enough place that he would commit this act.
