I once had this conversation with my spouse. I was 15, he was 17 when we started dating, and both virgins. around our 8th year together and 2nd year of marriage, it came up in conversation. within 6 months we had established an open relationship, within a year we were separated.

The only thing you can do is ask your wife what she meant by her question, and what brought it on. In any case, I would maybe slow down on hobbying just in case she is becoming suspicious.

If she said it just once, just let it go. Maybe she read a book or saw a TV show that day, or heard some gossip about a friend's husband or wife cheating. If she has brought it up multiple times, then it means something. Most likely, she is thinking about cheating, and is wondering whether you have, or suspects that you have, or that you want to.

This is basically what I was thinking. I wouldn't over think it unless it's a reoccurring topic. It could be she overheard someone's opinion on getting married without sampling other men first or something just as simple.

I appreciate it very much and it will be interesting where things go when I ask her about how she is feeling about our sex life - or is that how you feel?

If I had to guess, she is fishing a little bit to see if I might admit to something, but she is also smart enough to know that most men don't have sex with one woman for their entire life (especially if their sex life is not that exciting)....but I also don't think she really wants to hear any other answer than what I told her.
