What do you do if condo security DOES address you?

A lot condo's are now moving to an elevator FOB key, which is gonna make hobbying a lot harder
Not if you're an admitted guest.

The way they handle it is to have a timer start after you've buzzed the unit. Your floor will be accessible after you have access to the building, but if it times out. You can leave and re-enter or ask the security guard to re-set the elevator for you.

Yeah, but getting out is another story though. I just left 2220 Lakeshore West (around Lawn Park rd), and to get DOWN from 18th floor you needed an FOB key

I think you mean Parklawn lol & that's ridiculous.
The fact you tried to correct him (& insultingly so) when he was right is pretty funny
Go back re-read what was posted and try again

Instead of trying to avoid security and tenants at condo or hotel, I try to blend in and even start conversation, you'll be surprised how many try to move on and mind their own business, unlike the Carabean. Hello, a kind word, and a smile goes a long way aaand can open doors ;o)

This.

Ever feel uncomfortable in a really ritzy neighborhood? Think the locals are giving you the stink eye?

Wave hello to them. Give them a smile. It really does go a long way. The confidence that you belong there is MUCH better than drawing in and feeling persecuted.

It's never been an issue for me. Most of the time, the concierge doesn't even look up from what they're doing.

If you're that worried about it, try to leave by a side entrance or if you get stopped when you're leaving, just say your friend wasn't finished getting ready and you have reservations for half an hour from whatever the time is and you're just going ahead to get the table and they'll meet you there.

If they ask why you were only there for an hour, just tell them you were just having a drink before dinner.

One time I was so sneaky that I followed someone into a condo building instead of buzzing the incall, and then got on the guest elevator as others were getting off at the ground floor. Had no idea there was an elevator timer thing after being buzzed in.

Couldn't select a floor, and the elevator started moving up and down between floors but doors weren't opening for at least a minute. Finally they opened for someone getting on and I was lucky it was only a few floors away from the incall. I took the stairs to get to the right floor! Lesson learned.

Never had issues with security. There's one notorious incall building that, since the last time I visited, now has a front desk with security. Wouldn't want to go back.

This happened to me recently. But now I know why it timed out. I did not go to the right elevator (the wrong one didn't open, so I walked to G level and took it there after I asked the concierge, who had to know that I was buzzed up in the first place, so he obliged after I gave him the room number. No questions asked.)

Also, avoid the guest parking at condos. Security will often ask you for your vehicle plate #.

I guess it depends on the building...I knew a regular indy whose SOP was to make you wait in the entrance area for the security guard at the desk to let you in (I was never given a buzz code). Then you had to give the security guard your "name", the name of your "friend", suite #, and then the security guard called to let the SP know I was there. I never encountered any problems with this system, and I thought it was just the way that particular building operated.

I also remember an agency that instructed to take the elevator to a floor above the actual floor of the visit, then walk down the fire escape stairs to the floor. This I thought was weird.

You people actually think security doesn't know why strange men are frequenting certain suites??
Off topic, but who is the hottie in your GIF? She has been polishing that table for quite some time but she never seems to get finished, not that I am complaining!
