What are your thoughts on deposit.

I don't know any other service that requires deposits.

I knew someone who pimped kittens and trafficked them across borders. Buy them in Quebec, sell them for more in Ontario.

Apparently they asked for deposits, and one time she never got the pussy.

As for deposits, I've never done one in any context and that which is new is scary, and I am not so inclined to learn how to do it

Also the risks are great unless someone is super well known [and even then ages ago on the terb this guy sent a deposit to a known porn star, he got it back but it took ages and a lot of hustle to do it

Then you get the whole, stuff happens, traffic, accidents, zombies etc where one can legit not make an appointment, then you are on the hook. If a girl cancels on you, as happened to me once when I was on my way, well too bad so sad. A bit one sides.

I mean don't get me wrong, if a Kate Micucci clone was escorting, I'd be all shut up and take my money/deposit.

But it's a huge bother. Hell even calling up and making arrangements is a hassle. I live an hour away from any action. I guess I am kinda lazy. At least with the strip club, if feel like going, boom you go, no fuss no muss. I wish brothels were a thing in the Canadas.

For anything other than a well reviewed and well established provider, and the closer to the bottom of the market you get, the more likely a deposit is to be a 100% scam, or a source of problems.

This!
There are many services that require a deposit.
Buying a new car, concrete work, some roofers, building a new house, renting an apartment, booking a hotel may require the entire fee upfront and non-refundable.
Should I keep going?
I deleted my post because I was going to say the same. Hell, I had a surgery a while back and had to pay $100 fee to block off the time with the hospital.

In those cases you are dealing with companies or people who you know their real names, addresses, contacts,……

I don’t have a problem with a well established SP, I’ve done it many times. LL girls or unknowns? Never.

I’ll defend the practice a little too, because some of us guys can be dicks and seem to like wasting an SP’s time for some reason.

I know sending $$ to someone who’s name you don’t know is a risk, no question, but it goes both ways. No other professional will provide a service to a client without his name, address, contact info etc… but SP’s do. Ask a lawyer or accountant to do some work for you on that basis and she'll laugh in your face.

A girl once told me that 9 out of 10 messages she gets from new guys turn out to be tire kickers and guys who have no intention of actually paying to see her. And she got no shows to bookings on a regular basis before she started asking for deposits.

A well reviewed and popular girl schedules dates to fit with her civy life, many times weeks or months in advance. If a client is a no show she’s wasted her time, effort, and the opportunity to book someone else. If a client has paid a deposit she knows he’s serious about seeing her, is less likely to cancel at the last minute or no show, and at least she has something to compensate for her wasted time.

No one says you have to send deposits, just say no and move on to another girl.

If it's a well established well respected sp asking for a deposit then I would have no issue giving her a deposit. Sadly there are not many sp's who remain in the industry that fit that criteria. Giving any other sp especially those on LL a deposit is a hard no.

Lawyers get a retainer
Construction/renovation contractors get a deposit
For basically all online shopping you pay first, then get your merchandise later
Etc etc etc
Even at some specialty stores, items that are not on the floor and are classified as "special order" because it's not something that will typically sell immediately off the rack will require a deposit to bring it in if not full payment.

Nope. Never. No upside for me and the downside is devastating if anything more than being ripped off happens.
