My family is French Canadian (from Montreal) so we always have a traditional Québécois feast on Christmas Eve:
turkey and gravy, stuffing, ragoût de boulettes et pattes de cochon (meat balls with gravy and pig's legs), 2 types of tourtière (meat pies), mash potatoes, a mix of carrot and parsnip purée, fresh green beans, brocoli, brussel sprouts, carrots in a brown sugar syrup, 3 types of salads, pickled beets, 2-3 types of fresh bread...

And for later that evening: patés, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit, home made fruit pies, chocolate cake, home made Christmas cookies...

I'm positive I forgot to name a few things, too lol

Let's put it this way- we all eat more than we should. We all take home huge doggie bags and there's enough food left over to have another Christmas Eve party!

I love Brussels sprouts but nobody else in my family likes them so I don't make them. They love my garlic parmesan green beans though!
Do my recipe with the chicken broth and Aux gratin, the brussel sprouts will disappear.

So I'm off to Christmas dinner at my sister's house in a few hours, here's what's to be had.

Brodo with mini meatballs, Penne Bolognese, Bacala with raisins leeks and fingerling potatoes, Curatelle, Lamb chops, Rapini, grilled Asparagus, fruit mista and Amaretto Tiramisu.

Buon Natale a tutti e un felice Anno Nuovo.

Our feast was comprised of gnocchi, meatballs, lamb and bone in ham. Brussel sprouts, green beans, carrots, roasted red peppers, salad, parisienne potatoes. Dessert was cannolis, panettone, trifle. Washed everything down with copious amounts of Chianti and Remy.

What didn't I have?! Xmas Eve, it was pasta w/red sauce, salmon and bass, shrimp, calamari, rapini, vegetables, sex in a pan, fruit platter. Too much eating. Christmas Day was celebrated the Canadian traditional way, Roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, home-made gravy, cranberries, carrots, peas, cauliflower, zucchini lasagna was brought over. Desserts upon desserts, I need to go on a diet now lol.

Merry Christmas Terbinators
