I am soo old I remember playing at arcades in Toronto, they were called Pin Ball Machines. LOL.

I'm so old I remember going to Pachinko parlours in Tokyo, well before the advent of video game arcades.

Yup, perhaps no Tokyo gaming report is complete without mentioning Pachinko parlors... may look like just an arcade with high-tech slot machines, but there is usually an off-premises cage where people can claim their cash rewards... Illegal, a public secret that LE won't bother with... Pretty unique stuff in a country where no real casinos exist.

Actually I googled it, and I see that the Pachinko machines have very much evolved since I was there. Now much like electronic video games, but still with the balls and pins underlying principle. When I played it was strictly mechanical balls and pins...

When I was 9 years old i was delivering newspapers at bathurst and lawrence area. There was an arcade about a block north on Bathurst and when I got paid ....I'd go in the arcade and play pacman super pac man mrs pac man tron and a few more games and i'd be there for many hours blowing all my money having a blast. I owned an atari system that i won for being the best news paper delivery kid LOL

Wow Courtney, didn't think you were that old, LOL. I delivered newspapers in Parkdale in the early 1950s, so I am older than you.

There were no arcades that I know of in Ottawa while I was growing up.

My dad would take me to these dive bars that had oldschool arcade games as a child and I would play this tabletop arcade bowling game where you roll the ball in the table, and tabletop pacman at Rick's Place.

Kingston has a really cool bar called Barcadia right now.

Tons of arcade games to play while having a drink and each sitting booth has a different old school console to play with a big TV.

Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64 are a few of the consoles, and each has a ton of preloaded games to choose from.

The arcade games require quarters and the consoles are free to play.

I love it there.

Most movie theatres have small arcades in the building now too.
