Macy's
Papa John's (I believe there are two locations in Ontario)
Famous Dave's BBQ (midwest bbq joint that is pretty damn impressive for a chain)
Del Taco (god knows we need something better than the Bell)

Maybe Macy's ..... bring the great customer service to Canada !!! The Big Department stores here have unbelievable ZERO customer service. Sear/ The Bay have ZERO people on the floor to help , many time no one on cash .... You would think they are a Discount outlet with ZERO staff ..... YET .... their prices are crap!!!
I could see Macy's making a go of it here, compared to Sears and The Bay - Last time I was at Sears you had to go 1/2 way across the floor to a single register for the whole floor to pay...looked for someone to assist (in finding out the prices - three signs on the display!) for 10 minutes - almost ready to just leave (but the sale price was really good so stuck it out!) and got the lowest price on the display - the store assistant removed the other signs while I was there.

Macy's is probably waiting to see how Saks does when it opens at Square One (I think)

The US gets a way better selection of fast food burger joints. In-N-Out, Whataburger, Carl's Jr. etc. I'd like them all to pull a Five Guys and come to Canada please and thanks.

The Tories would love to see Verizon come to Canada. They think Canada is such a huge country that we need 4 national telecom wireless carriers (France has 3 and is twice our size). Unlike Target, Verizon's management was much smarter. They didn't want to waste management time dealing with a country that generates probably 1% of their revenue, plus 2 languages and the CRTC.

Agreed. Another problem is population distribution. Need to cover triple the land to hit half the people.

- BJ's restaurant & Brewery (not just 'cause the name applies to us)
- In N Out Burger
- Bojangles Chicken & Biscuits
- Cheesecake Factory
- Dunkin' Donuts (if only to improve Timmies service by adding competition)
- Smashburger (competition for the over priced Five Guys)

As for what should come and take over from Target?
- Macy's

Can't help but notice a few of these companies (Outback and Ponderosa also come to mind) are companies that have been in Canada and left. Doubt you will see them back.
