I know this question has been asked before, but I am going to put it out there one more time (thing do change).

The family is going away this weekend, it has been awhile. Where in Durham/East Scarborough can a guy go, for good beer, entertainment and maybe meet a lady.
Thought I would add that I am in my 40's.

Thanks for the help.

I'm assuming you want to try to pick up a girl from a bar rather than pay for one via an Indy or agency? Try these places, I've had luck at all of them and so have my friends...

Oshawa:

Excuses on Simcoe South: Friday or Saturday night with South Oshawa's dirtiest women. Most of them are unemployeed and on welfare. Baby mama type girls in their 20s who got fucked around by useless unemployeed guys who walk around in jean shorts and no top looking for drugs. You will also find older low esteemed divorcees who are past their prime and come here to get lucky. If it's a one night stand type thing then you will get lucky here. Keep in mind the attractiveness of the ladies at this place is below average.

Whitby:

Tap and Tankard on Brock St. South: Friday or Saturday. Young to mid 30s type crowd. Live band sometimes. Good looking business women will frequent for quick drinks and then may be convinced to stay late if they like the action. Also a lot of industry people frequent this place so servers from other bars and restaurants can be found here. Go early and pick out your prey. Line ups are insane at this place after 11pm.

The Royal Oak Pub on Taunton Road and Garden: Good place to grab a pint and enjoy the vast patio. Patio faces out to Taunton Road and is always rammed. Good looking wait staff and lots of beer selections. Interior is nicely decorated and feels more like a restaurant than a pub. Crowd ranges from 20somethings to 40something couples. Also, lots of cops go here as the police station is just a block over. Watch yourself when you leave the parking lot if you have had too many. Adam Foote is a regular at this place as his house is just down on Cochrane. Chatting up a lady at this place is very easy, women that frequent this place are laid back and open minded I found.

Ajax:

The Keg on the corner of Hwy 2 and Salem: Hot looking waitresses and hot looking business women after work on a Friday night. The patio is very nice and usually packed. Upscale type of women will frequent this place for a drink. Bring your A game if you hope to leave with a woman here.

Pickering:

Port off of Liverpool Road South: Similar to the Keg in Ajax but add the waterfront to the patio area. Some vibe as the Keg, bring your A game here if you hope to get some take out.

Jukebox off of Hwy 2 between Liverpool and Whites: Big nightclub that offers a live band as well. Cougar hunting territory. Crowd is usually 30+ and music is a mix of top 40. Fridays is ladies night, not as busy but easier to score. Saturdays is rammed, place is packed with milfs and cougars. Easiest place in Durham to pick up IMO. Cover is $10 for men either night.

Scarborough:

Cactus Pete's on Danforth Road and Birchmount: The old Birchmount Tavern. POF usually throws a party here every last Friday of the month. Mixed crowd, Scarborough's version of Excuses. Easy girls at this place too.

There is also the Stone Cottage but forget where that is? Eglington? Morningside? It's another good place for easy girls.

Hope this helps??? Good luck!

Cheers

With all of Ralph's info, why am I still married and at home on a Friday night bored? Ah well...I guess you can't have them all...
Me too Worf, I try to get the wife to go to Jukebox on a Friday night, but end up going myself. Unfortunately, I know too many people there to have "take out"...lol

Wow, that is quite the list. I will make every attempt to check them out. As to the Stone Cottage, its on Kingston Road by Scarborough Golf Club. Younger crowd, not my type. I will however take your advice and check out some of the other spots. Many thanks.

Why not go to the North of Scarborough and into Markham on Woodbine near Steeles. There is always the "Dirty Martini" that is catered exactly to your needs. :)

Hey Ralph, for the less-outgoing among us that information is absolutely fantastic, thanks. I was wondering if you could elaborate a bit on the crowd at the Jukebox, I'm in my 20's so I'm not sure how I'd fit in there or indeed if I'd even be welcomed.

Ralph how is pulse nightclub on simcoe s like? Have you been there?
The last time I was in that venue it was called the Bald Monkey. Ever since then it has been closed and re-opened so many times. It's a place I would personally not go into. Why? It will probably be empty and the minimal crowd that does attend will probably be all dudes and very little female content. This location is a dead zone for a club of this type. You got the Corral and Excuses all within walking distances. The crowd in this area prefers these types of bars rather than a nightlclub type of club. Roi (formerly Le Skratch) also will take away a lot of the business from Pulse. So if I were you avoid Pulse, save your time and money.

No worries, you will definitely be welcomed and for fitting in well that's up to you. Depends if you like the crowd. Some of my friends don't like the local scene and prefer a Toronto bar or club. Others find this place too mature filled with 40 and 50 year old women. I'm in my mid 30s, at the moment I can get away and party with the 20something crowd if I have to but I prefer partying with the 30 and 40 something crowd so I feel more comfortable at Jukebox. Jukebox is a big venue with a big dancefloor, a stag for a live band and then a DJ spins after 12am for the rest of the night. Friday night at Juke is ladies night and that means women from as young as mid 20s to women in their 40s and 50s will come out to play. Not as packed or as busy as Saturday. The dancefloor will be filled with women while the men stand around the bar areas spotting their preys. On Saturdays its rammed! The crowd is much more mixed meaning a lot more younger people in their 20s and 30s meshing with the 40 and 50 year old crowd. There is one sure thing about Jukebox, if you see an older woman in her 40s by herself or with another friend standing around but not dancing go up and start a convo. Use your game! There is only reason they are there. If they really wanted to go out for a glass of Pinot Grigio or a Cosmo they wouldn't come to this place. The last time me and my friends were there my buddy picked up a 47 year old real estate agent living in the Guildwood area. He got her # and within 3 days he was in her hot tub with her closing the deal. Always ask where they are from. The further away from Pickering the better, meaning they chose to come from far away. Anyone coming from Scarborough, Markham, North York, Courtice, Bowmanville, etc... is a good thing.

Thanks for the further info, Ralph. I'm not really into the club/dance scene so the Jukebox sounds like it might even be a little hectic for me, personally. I've been to a couple of smaller pubs in the Pickering area (I'm kind of "stuck" in the area due to family obligations) and they seem to be more my speed, but I don't know of any place like that that is considered "cougar" territory.

Seriously though, info like that is golden. I almost wish someone with a lot of time and money would compile some sort of database of cougar gathering places for demented youngn's like me. :p

I scoped out this joint one Friday night hoping to find some good action. Gotta admit Ralph you are right on the money with the type of femmes at Excuses. The smallest chick I seen that night could easily kick start a 440.....all 400lbs of her.

I just heard yesterday that Excuses closed down and all the regs from there now go to Chasers on Townline and #2 Apparently same owner as Excuses. Never been there but if you get the chance to see a two man group "Two for the Show" they are a hoot and really good!
