web site registration?

Can anyone give me advise on searching for a .com or .ca name and registering it. I guess I'm a website virgin and for once don't want to get screwed. Any help would be appreciated.

I go to Network Solutions to look up stuff at their whois connection, but I do not use them. I used register.com earlier in my career, and stay away from them at all costs.

A friend subcontracts my current webhosting, which actually could give me 24/7 service if I needed it, which I have not. Since I know him, if something went wrong I can get to my house, if necessary, to work on any sort of problem.

I used ez-webhosting once... turned out it was part of Tucows.. and no adult material allowed

then I tried Webmasters.com & they allowed adult material & were very good to deal with

www.godaddy.com cheapest, biggest and best, but not for .ca

Mike, Godaddy look great but is there any advantage to trying to register with a Canadian company, even bell?

Thanks Anya. So far Godaddy is cheapest, but agin, dealing with US companies. I don't mind that, just think it might be easier to deal in Canada. Still not sure.

Dont know if they are adult biz friendly-but I have several sited up with www.telushosting.com
You can register your domain(ca, com etc) as well as buy hosting and they are cdn based.

GoDaddy

I've registered many .com names with GoDaddy and I've been very happy. As for .ca names, I always us DomainsAtCost.ca - the cheapest and very easy to use.
