Anyone know if it's possible to redirect a domain name to a specific *page* within a site, or can you only re-direct to an alternate domain altogether?

you can direct a domain to any page in any folder in the space, as long as the registrar has that feature, ... yes

Depending on the server, it can also be done via .htaccess or via the control panel on some servers.

Domain forwarding is available as an "extra" in most website admin control panels

I think she wants to direct a homepage to another page or script within the same site.

WIYD was right, Dave. I'm to do an entire domain redirect, rather than just a page re-direct.
