I was just curious as to what is the average charge for web design? I was offered an exchange of services for a "professional" site, and I just don't think I can do that many hours!

I do like my site but I have been offered to make it better. If anyone has any experience, I'm very curious to the cost.

The site you have seems fine. I am not sure a "professional" site would advance your business enough to warrant the cost.

If you list what additional features you want it might help with an estimate of the cost.

You should add a flash show to your sig line... you are already paying to advertise here and it shows well every time you post.

Cheers.

Well I've had my site for close to a year now...and it was done as I asked. I chose the colours, fonts, pages, where the buttons go, etc - and everything is updated for free. When I asked the so-called inquirer to provide me with 10 sites that he's done that were not escort-related, all I got was "your site is not professional at all." Just in even asking me to exchange services I don't really understand because it would not be a fair trade in any measure.

I do like the way my site is, I have my own domain name... not a sub-domain hosted by another site like a lot of SPs use. I have to resize my own pics to post when new pics go up, and information is updated as my week changes.

Since I do a lot of the up-keep for my own stuff, I was just wondering what the rate would have been if I was looking to make a new one.

Thanks very much for the feedback!

Sounds like someone is just plugging for business and free massages. Your site is fine. Tell him to bugger off.

I agree. Just not worth pursuing. I don't think "improving" your website would increase your business and it seems this guy is looking for free services from you.

For a professionally designed website with some flash and the features you describe between 800 and 1500.

I realize the guy who asked just wanted a freebie but it was just like a "what DOES it really cost to make a site?" kinda query.

Thanks for the feedback!

A "professional" website can fairly expensive depending on what your looking for and what content you want on it. There are many options from movies to flash animation, to pictures, blogs, bookings, schedules, open hours. It could never end. My professional website which is much more than you need cost me close to 20k by the time it was designed. My last site was 6-7k, which was still professional but still more than you'd ever need probably. Honestly I'd say anywhere from 1-3000 depending on what you require.

You mean the one on my signature that appears every post? I don't think I need ANOTHER spot to show that I have a site...or do you mean a link on my site to my terb profile??

I tried that when CL first was having issues with ads...I specifically asked what girls use and clients use....the thread was removed within the day.

As far as I've gathered it's like 1000 for a really good site...which would have everything that I already have (aside from another person coming in and taking photos with my camera). I think my site has everything I need and to the point, a lot of clients compliment me on how easy it is to toggle through.

I personally think that the best deal going for web design is with Caspindex They are very professional and good too. I had them do my website and I am very happy with it. Check it out www.gardenofedenladies.com If your interested in more details please feel free to PM me. I would recommend these guys to anyone whos looking to get a professional website that is easy to use.

were you a paid advertiser then ?

as Nicole suggested you can do it via PM and that will be within all guidelines

I think that you will find a LOT of helpful people here just look here https://terb.cc/vbulletin/index.php the home page for the forums and at the bottom you will see members names on line at that time ...the BLUE ones of course are the advertisers on line then and you can click on any name to see the profile and PM from there

good luck

I could create a professionally designed website for $200.
Add to that $100 annual fee for server space and domain name.

However, I really don't design any more as I'm currently too busy running Erotic Canada. I refer all my clients to designbysls.biz who is a retired escort herself and very inexpensive.
$1000 will get you one incredible website, but it sure as hell won't make you any more money than a $200 website!
Eventually all that flash and glitter becomes really annoying to people who look at your site repeatedly. Don't waste your money or time on some dude looking for cheap action.
Remember the KISS approach - Keep It Simple Sweetheart.

BTW, FREE ads for Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge/Guelph on Erotic Canada!
Sorry, I had to slip in a little advertising with my post. lol

Hehe I have a server and domain name (you could probably tell I'm a .com )

I like your response tho, I think I'll keep to my own design and everything like you said...since I run it all. I also run a forum (yay administration!)

Flash takes too long and most ppl are desiring better photos. It's in the works!!

... especially with more and more of us accessing sites using BlackBerrys and iPhones etc. It's annoying how something as simple as a splash screen using Flash can prevent most mobile users from accessing a site.

That's a really good point! I know for gaming that the more detailed an app. the laggier it gets...if that makes sense.
