If you had read the article more carefully, you would know that most of the protesters are Chinese themselves, and that this is being reported in the Chinese media. So 'way to go China' make about as much sense as saying that Canada's culture is twisted because we have murderers in this country.

I spend 1-2 months a year in China , dog consumption is rare and concentrated mostly in that area noted in the article .
This region has a long history of dog meat trade , borne from starvation and overpopulation . It is part of their culture many in China are trying to eliminate.

Not so long ago some meat products in Europe had horse meat in it. So should we blame all Europeans for eating horses OR is eating horses okay with you?

Having been posted all over the world while in the service, I've seen people of many nations eating much more disturbing things than dog meat...and they weren't asians! My thoughts too. Oh wait - dogs are cute.

People eat all sorts of crap. Think about head cheese, monkey brains, fish cheeks, turtle, horse, frogs, crickets.... we eat because we are hungry.

I'm not interested in eating from that list but not everyone has grocery gateway delivering pre-packaged food.

As above posts, eating dogs in China and Korea is very very limited. I been to China over 50 times, and I never seen any restaurant that serve such dish.
