The war between Marvel and DC is going to intensify courtesy of HBO.

Watchmen is a DCU property, they've collaborated with HBO to bring it to the screen. It's based on an altered reality that began in 1968, unfortunately the USA isn't any better for it.

Zach Snyder did his best with the film version that came out in 03/2009. He was bound to fail, there's too much material to be covered in a 2.5 hour film. Now it's getting the proper format, it could be HBO's most talked about show since Game of Thrones first aired, a worthy replacement. The intro is ingenious featuring both Bass Reeves (the real Lone Ranger) and Drake. HBO's passing nod to Zac Snyder, "thank you for your effort, we'll take it from here". The show runner is Damon Lindelof who previously worked on Lost and The Leftovers. From what I saw of the first episode, HBO is going to take it's time with the material, there's a lot to cover.

As for the above reference, captain America appears in both the MCU and DCU. Except that in Watchmen he is a White Supremacist...Kevin Fiege won't be happy about this.

I watched about 15 minutes of this last night; just woke up from the coma. Will give it a second chance when I have watched the paint dry.

You must be on some very powerful depressants, the first 10 minutes are intense.

The land of Trump is a very funny place
Where everyone wears a very hateful face

Racists have really done a number on Watchmen's IMDB audience score.

Commendatori Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Copolla are correct about Disney and by extension the MCU. Disney is strangling the film industry with their saccharine crap. Unlike Watchmen, the MCU heroes characters are all generic boy/girl scouts. Even Tony Stark's darker nature has been diluted which is why RDJ is so happy to be done with the character. Endgame is ridiculous, critics fell all over themselves praising Black Panther - it looks like "black washing" to me.

In contrast the costumed superheroes in Watchmen are very fallible and human. The other factor is the show will highlights aggressively the ugliness of racism. The racist 7th Cavalry used Rorschach's deed to their own evil ends. Rorschach sacrificed himself to hide a bitter truth that would have fractured the USA. The image of the poster of Captain America holding a noose with a strangled black child in the collar is explosives! Even though it's an alternate reality, American forces conduct a successful counter offense after the Tet Offensive and Hanoi surrenders, it's very relevant to the times we live in. I didn't give the premiere episode a glowing review but it set up what's to come well.

...the introduction of Ozymandias was unusual, I wasn't expecting it. Jeremy Irons plays the role...and the show's rating is still falling.

I downloaded the 2009 movie. Suffice to say I’m glad I have unlimited bandwidth otherwise I would be kicking myself.

I had no idea that the Tulsa terror raid actually happened!

Grace reviews the show. Again the opening premise, the terrorist militia 7th Cavalry using Rorschach sacrifice to their own evil ends will drive the story along. Don't expect Donald Trump/Dr. Manhattan to show up soon, he tends to radically alter the landscape.

The show is building like The Deuce before it. E3 has an 8.7 on IMDB, finally the racists are being outnumbered.

FBI Detective Laurie Blake (Silk Specter II) joins the investigation into the lynching of Sheriff Crawford.

Silk Specter Sr was played by Carla Cugino in the film.

If we're talking about the film with Malin Akermann, Then it's worth it...

Malin Akermann grew up in Toronto, it looks like she's been written out of Billions - shame. Correction Carlo Cugino is Silk Specter's mother in the film, she's Sally Jupiter.

Although not stated, Jean Smart is playing the older Silk Specter.

Trump walks into a bar.

Trump finally showed up on Watchmen, incognito at first. Very ingenious plot development but it posed a question - where does that leave Silk Specter. We still don't know who Paula Malcolmson is, I'm certain that was her under the Rorschach mask. The season finale, will explain these mysteries, I hope.

As for Trump being challenged in the loins, that got destroyed. His cazzone was massive! Probably weighs more than my sub woofer.
