Which model? The 7, 8 and X are all waterproof.I jut put my iPhone through the laundry. What do I do now?
HAven't tried to turn it back on yet. Should I use rice (does that even work?) or just wait 24 hours and try, or maybe oven on low heat?
Or maybe I just have to buy a new one...
Sorry to hear that. But you know there is an other way if you want to clean your data.I jut put my iPhone through the laundry. What do I do now?

Apparently that works. Yes, I’ve seen that work.Stick it in a bag of rice for a day or so that will drew the water out
I lost my Motorola flip phone years ago. It was found submerged in a salty water filled pot hole a couple days later. It even had tread marks on the back of it. I had put a label with my name and number on the back of the removable battery. The guy who found it left me a message. I picked it up, took it home and placed it on my radiator for a couple days to dry out. To my surprise, it still worked. The display was a little messed up but that's about it.Apparently that works. I left my i7 out in the rain one night, (late night on the back patio) and it didn’t hurt it a bit.
Older iPhones, i4 &i6, I’ve always had cases, I don’t understand why someone would not use a case, but it’s a show off thing I guess.
Way way back in flip-phone days I dropped my phone in a cup of coffee. Dead. I had to go back to my older phone for 2 years as it was under contract.
Sometimes we learn lessons the hard way.
Sorry to hear it’s dead. My i7 is about a year and a half old, still pristine condition as it’s been in a life proof case. It's a 6SE. It's now 24 hours later and it's dead as a doornail. Won't even pretend to turn on or recognize the charger. Time to buy a new one...luckily it was just over the 2-year term so I can start fresh - thinking of going with a 7.
