A road incident straight out of an animated cartoon left police scratching their heads on Thursday morning.
A small car smashed into the back of a tractor-trailer on the Don Valley Parkway, crushing the roof down almost to the level of the doors, flattening the tires and shattering the windows.
But when the truck driver pulled over, the car backed out from under the rig and took off down the highway and up a ramp.
Police found the vehicle and its four uninjured occupants a short time later behind a nearby factory.
The driver of the car, 20, faces charges including impaired driving.
