I received a message from Speakout saying that they will no longer support 3g, and that I need to find a new provider by the end of the month. Not only the short notice, but all the credits in my account ($100+) will be useless and can't be transferred or refunded.

So I swtiched to Freedom Mobile, and was Shocked at how easy it was to have my old number transferred.

Just provided basic information: Name, address, and phone number, and IMEI number. No pin number or account number was required. Not only that, unlike other providers that send a text message and need you to confirm to execute the swap, Speakout only sends a text message saying that a swap is in progress, and to contact them if you didn't order it. Meaning, if you don't check your phone in a couple hours after that message was sent, the transfer would go through, and your new phone number will be stolen, allowing thieves to take over your bank accounts, etc.

This is ridiculous.

To me at least... what is ridiculous is using a 711 phone for their banking security. But that's just me.🤷‍♂️
