Warning about cnd tire gas bar 400 north bound

Posted in the Lounge, but thought I'd repost here:

They apparently have a card reader. Call today from the bank regarding suspicious activity on account. Made sure to call the number on back of card directly to ensure this was not a scam. This was the only activity on said card, so there is no way it could have been from elsewhere- bank agrees.

Stopped for gas at the Northbound 400 hwy CND Tire gas bar late at night.

The attendant had a shaved head, I'd guess early 30s. Bank is currently investigating with police.

Just wanted to warn those traveling up the 400 in the coming days until this asshat gets caught.

Bloody hell.

Chances are the attendant and the station had no idea.. organized crime come in, cause a distraction and switch the readers for ones with a transmitter inside.. a few days they'll go and switch them back after they've collected a few thousand numbers.

Happens all the time..

ATM fraud at the machine is done through a SECOND outlet in the machine to grab your info, combined with the hidden camera to get your pin, Voila, they can duplicate your card to use. THIS has happened many times, but not at many reputable vendors. I never use any card anywhere it is suspicious.

BTW, it is at the machine so ANY bank card will be subject to this fraud.
