I understand that the involved parties have their special interests and their leaders’ personal biases is also a factor.

However, regardless the reasons and the preceding events that lead to the current situation, and regardless our perceptions of good and evil, I believe a war with Iran was inevitable.

Given that the war was unavoidable and bound to happen at some point anyway, I believe it is better that it happened sooner than later.

Now that it is happening, it is my preference that the US and Israel achieve the objectives of
- markedly degrading the military capabilities of the Iranian regime - including both conventional and nuclear capability, and
- triggering a regime change in Iran to something new that will be more aligned with the West.
Where did this normal conversation come from all of a sudden?
I have my suspicions.

I don't think that they have triggered regime change. Probably quite the contrary in that they have caused the Iranian people to rally against an external agressor.

The rule I live by is that the truth usually stands the test of time, but a lie eventually gets exposed.
Doesn't always work though, but its the best I got
Its a good rule. The reason it doesnt always work is because the lie gets repeated endlessly, over and over. If they stopped repeating the lie, people would forget it.

It's not just a "factor". They are the primary reasons. Israel did this because public opinion is turning against them. In 10 years they may lose USA funding. They are rolling the dice on Gaza, Lebanon, and the West Bank NOW. All or nothing. They are expansionist. And ready to go for broke.

That is the danger here. They may not have limits.
