If your intention is to eventually play in a band, learn bass guitar. You will never be out of work.
I have heard that before
Everyone wants to play lead guitar, of course
Waayyyyyyyy to competitive
Stay in the background with bass and a lot easier to learn
To learn an instrument and then actually publically perform would be ideal
Something creative that I could be proud of
yet relatively easy
the didgeridoo ?
because it is an overtone instrument, like the bugle, it seems quick to learn as there is no fingering to learn or scales or chords etc and the sounds are unique and primitive, although the sounds are very limited, each didgeridoo would have its own tone and sound as they are made from natural wood that has been carved hollow by insects
you could be a street musician quickly
and could lead to a spot in a creative band that has a sense of playfulness
never seen a didgeridoo player so there would be little competition
seems like a self taught instrument as well
enough info on the net
the problem may be learning without bothering your neighbors
not sure of you could soften the sound by using a smaller version or something
I do wonder about lung capacity for someone who is older that may be the factor that stops me
I do not know if I could build up my lungs without passing out after of few minutes of playing
anyone have opinions
