Disney is going full woke.
Among upcoming projects are She-Hulk, Thorina and a female Pirates of the Caribbean, this will bring such joy.
A project that Disney certainly would not green light is Orange is the new Black. Not as brutal as Oz but no less horrific, it's a little more bearable as a comedy instead of a drama. The lead actresses are Taylor Shilling as Piper, her character is purposely bland becoming regressively more despicable as the prison goes from State run to for profit. The show is a springboard to other projects for a number of young actresses most notably Dianne Guerrero (Doom Patrol - Crazy Jane) and Asia Dillon (Billions - Taylor Mason). My fascination with the grotesque keep me watching.
I wonder if any of the actresses in the Disney vehicles consider that I could mean career suicide? Ruby Rose, also an OITNB alum has already done so, Disney darling Daisy Ridley appears to be on her way. One actor that isn't is the formidable Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway), she's probably the reason why this horrible show lasted for six seasons. Maybe I should stop watching it - it's rendering me voluntarily celibate.
