I was thinking of buying the VS Ultra V2 Does any know if it is a good receiver ??

I am using the CW 600p right now and the picture looks like crap on my LCD tv

The Viewsat Ultra 2 is a great receiver. Very easy to use and the fixes come out very fast for it. The only thing I can warn you is be careful where you buy it from and make sure they are a Viewsat Authorized dealer or else you might get shafted with a clone.

Viewsat Ultra has been a god send....but don't get carried away and upgrade to HD unit...the technology is changing...the domestic satellite supplier is almost finished its new card swapping. Dish net to follow suitin the next year...which could be complete new type of FTA units ....in all the Ultra looks fine enough on Plasma TV

Very true, if you just want a Viewsat you could also consider the Ultra Lite version which is the same as the Ultra V2 except not component out or s-video out I believe. It's also quite a bit smaller too but the files get released for this just as fast as the V2.

How do you like your N3?
If you like it toasted your in luck. Major progress has been made and things are starting to fall in place. The N3 we have all known is really not N3 at all but more like a N1.9. Yes that’s right, it isn't anymore advanced then the N2 we are using now. More info to come as things progress but things are definitely on the upside

Well more progress has been made and the road has been plowed. The future is so bright I gotta wear shades

As it looks all VS units shouldn't have any troubles keeping support for whats to come.

With that being said... I have been "testing" the Sv360 Elite and it seems good besides the few PVR bugs.

I would also look for something that will do MPEG 4 as both Charlie and the Lady will be switching to that in the near future.. Best Make i found was Sonic View, I was using the Elite 360 with PVR and dual tuner.. The Sonic View has been tested with N3 to work fine, but its just not going to be released till all go to N3. Expect the Lady to be finished switching over to N3 for December. Very nice on the LCD but i dumped it because of the changes in store + I wanted to go to Directv which i am now on.. (No Hack so don't ask)

Dish network sued NDS claming they where the ones behind the opening and hacking of Dish in 2002. Dish network won there case and proved NDS a News Crop DirecTV company hacked them.

NDS has been ordered by a federal judge to pay Echostar and Dish Network a total of $8.3m in attorney fees and costs. The ruling follows the long legal battle between Echostar and NDS.

US District Judge David Carter for the Central District of California issued his ruling in favor of echostar last Thursday.
