This is no longer possible. You can click the "Jump to new" button at the top of the thread and it will take you to the last post you read.

Is there a way to use the /latest switch and add a button on the main pages instead of having to go into the message and THEN find the Jump to new button?

It seems to me that there should be a default to view newest first. This is certainly the most relevant way to review/gather new info. Far more useful than having to read through history to get to today I would think
