Probably every gamer has faced a similar problem. Sometimes you don't even notice how fast the time passed. I have been playing different video games for a long time, and I know modern games with an original storyline. Until you get through all of them, it is tough to stop. I'm not a fan of story-driven games; I prefer to play Minecraft. On the weekends, my friends and I often play Minecraft. We used to have a hard time finding a good server, but now we choose a server here https://minecraft.buzz/ and for a good reason. Finding a good server on the Internet is difficult, and here is a list of proven.

Games have gotten really bad in the last few years for what amounts to gambling. Things like loot boxes, micro transactions and season passes. Whatever they call them, they're all designed to keep you playing and spending money. EA and Ubisoft are the worst offenders, but a lot of games have them. Free-to-play and mobile games are 100% guaranteed to have such things in them.
Reading books or watching psychology info on how to find yourself, be yourself. Let go of the EGO so you can be better?, Exercise, cook, learn to love yourself so you won't be crying over a broken heart when you get dumped? and how not to waste time here.
How to become more mature so you don't do seeing other people while married?

I agree. It's rather insidious, and I have no idea why it hasn't been acted on. Can only imagine most legislators don't understand what's going on.
As far as I can tell, there are two levels of manipulation at play. The most disgusting is definitely the gambling aspect of loot boxes. EA likes to equate their loot boxes to kinder surprises, but there's so much wrong with that analogy. For one, a kinder egg is like $2, and the dinky toy inside isn't worth much or desired, and is played with in isolation like once then discarded typically. EA lootboxes, on the other hand, are 5x, 10x, 50x more expensive, contain highly sought after prizes, are unfairly weighted so that your chances of getting the most desired outcome is much less than assumed, and convey advantages in multiplayer environments.
The second level is regular microtransactions where there's no random nature to it, but they still convey advantages in multiplayer games, so there's a strong compulsion to buy.
These compulsions are hard enough on adults with impulsive tendencies, so to have them affect kids is abhorrent.
I think the UK government tried to go after EA, but that's when they called lot boxes, etc "surprise mechanics." Likely nothing has been done since.
The problem with all digital "goods" like movies, games, dlc, software, books, etc. is that youre only buying a licence. They can cancel those licenses at any time.
So I was stuck on AC Black flag and that ended my addiction for a bit but now - Harry fucking potter!!!! I’m done.
