Vegas Recommendations - Good Eats?

The trip to Vegas was a blast. Blast oven, more like. It was crazy hot. I've been to some hot places but the desert heat just sucks the moisture out of you. I've never drank so much water in my life. I'd suggest bypassing all drink stands and load up at the ABC store. Cheapest drinks (including beer) I saw around.
We did the Mon Ami Gabi patio at dusk. Got a great seat right by the rail for a perfect view of the Bellagio water works. Fantastic! The food was meh. The steak was big, but chewy. Gravy was tasty (but I'm a believer that sauces are the crutch of weak chefs). The fish entre was much better. The scallop apps were perfectly done.
Didn't think the Bellagio Buffet was all that great. Too crowded and the food was sloppy.
Two new things that I didn't expect:
1. Casino card tables with strippers dancing. Check out the Pussy Cat Dolls at Ceasars.
2. Naked pools. Seems to be the latest. A combination of day club and pool party. Yee haw!

It was hardly great steak. Standard bistro fare as far as I was concerned. A cheap flank cut smothered in sauce (classic French style, I suppose). BUT, we got a great table right at the rail. We were seated at dusk so by the time the entres arrived, the show was on.
@bobbyhullfan - sorry, I missed your question. The answer is - definitely hit the pools. They are not fat chicks. If anything,the larger women stay away because they know they face stiff competition. Like the nightclubs, the hotels work hard to bring in young women to party at their pools. They have guys working the cheaper hotels to bring hot girls back to the hot day clubs.
If anything, I didn't like that aspect of the clubs. Around 4 or 5 every afternoon, the hotel lobby would be crawling with half-naked, drunk girls waiting for cabs. It made the hotel look/feel sleazy.

I was in Vegas recently and ate at Mon ami Gabi (on the patio) and I completely agree with your assessment.

The food was OK, fair. Not good, not great. I would equate Mon Ami Gabi to say a Canyon Creek or the like in Toronto. Definitely nothing to write home about.
Also ate at Nobu which is obscenely expensive. Very good sushi, on par with say Blowfish in Toronto, but not great. Kaji in Toronto is far far superior to Nobu and about half the price. Nobu (like Blowfish) is "Hollywood sushi".
Also ate at Bouchon in Vegas. Bouchon was very good as well too. In fact, of my 3 dining experiences in Vegas, I liked Bouchon (Number 1), Nobu (a close second) and Mon Ami Gabi ( a very distant third).
All in all, the restaurants in Vegas are good, to very good, but none of them was unique or great. You will find far better dining in Toronto than Vegas.
Vegas buffets kick the shit out of anything we have in TO.
