Only a concern if you head into the remote areas of Brazil. Vampire bats never used to feed on people but they seem to have adapted to the loss of their original prey by switching to sucking blood from humans:

Apparently they don't actually suck your blood. They land on you when you are sleeping and, like a giant mosquito, have saliva that numbs your skin so you don't feel it when they cut you. Then they lap up the blood that flows out until they are full.
Most attacks are on people sleeping outdoors or with an open door or window.
