Oriental Guy was singled out for using the review section as a marketing tool. However, he is not the only one guilty.Just look at the review section of Durham/Kingston/Ottawa, you will notice that lots of indies make their announcements there. I suppose as long as you don't carry it to the extreme, you probably can get away with it. It seems to me that OG was testing Fred's tolerance limit, and he learned his lesson the hard way.

No I suppose that there are a lot of indies that are savvy as to good reasons to hang around this board. They realize that raises their profile. They don't have to advertise anything. As soon as they show up they'll get bombarded by useless PM's anyway. So what is your point?

U talking to me ? My point is that it is okay to bend the rule a bit as long as you don't break it.

There is no inconsistency here. Those announcements are almost exclusively by travelling escorts who are already TERB advertisers.
That forum has no advertiser section.

why not let the indies announce their arrival?
it not only brings more activity to the board but if they get a lot of response then they are more receptive to advertising here.
and then everyone wins.
of course they have to be monitored so as to not overkill their arrival.
