No, you should read footsniffers post again. He is correctly stating that the market hates uncertainty, and when certainty rweturns, good or bad, the stock will recover.
When certainty returned at Countrywide Financial the stock recovered--to zero. The market hates uncertainty precisely because it means a really bad outcome is possible. If certainty returns and no really bad outcome has materialized then of course it rises.

Good luck. I am wondering why you are buying already. I think the uncertainty about BP will increase for a couple of months, as when the CEO is fired, and
when the cleanup starts, and when the lawsuits will be coming out of the woodwork.
Thanks Danmand....if BP declines further, I'll buy more. The key point is that it's yielding double its peers ..exxon/conocoPhillips/Shell etc are giving 3%. I very much doubt that BP will attain those levels soon, but while I wait I earn seven percent in dividends.

I would be concerned only if the dividend was in jeopardy...which it is not at all. Therefore it's a very low risk buy at these prices. At the nadir of last years collapse, it declined to 35.00/share; that when Oil prices were at half today's levels and people were righfully scared that the world might be entering a depression. I actually hope it gets there once again.

Love it.

...."If they can lead BP to think that Justice is starting to go up the chain, and that there will be more of these arrests, that might incentivize BP to up their offer a bit," he said.
In a statement on its website, BP said that it was cooperating in the investigation but would not comment on the charges against Mix.

"BP had clear policies requiring preservation of evidence in this case and had undertaken substantial and ongoing efforts to preserve evidence," the company said.
