We're talking football, not basketball ...........
I was being facetious. I am hardcore Syracuse fan who attends about 6-8 games annually (basketball), but have given up on the football program. Although the basketball team has been disappointing as well, given the recent great recruits, and somewhat poor results.
While never one of the major powerhouses, it was a pretty good football program through the late 80's and 90's, peaking its head up now and then in to the top 10. I still remember Donovan McNabb making Michigan look foolish at the Big House, and Marvin Graves nearly leading Syracuse over the powerhouse Miami team in the early 90's... puking in the huddle because he was hit so hard during the game.
I still remember going to a Syracuse game a few years ago, and some five year old was going to buy an SU mini-football and his father told him.. "In our family we don't associate with the football program. Get a basketball instead"
