I'm sorry Ashton no offence. I am getting riled because you accept it as a fact of life I don't. Like I said I have standards or values , if you don't see the stupidity of this I won't convince you , that's ok .

It's not like a porsche vs ford , a porsche is a better car.

Just read Strongbeau's last post.......he has got it right!

I have been in this debate too many times!......sorry, booboo, but IT IS A FACT OF LIFE......just like war is or poverty, or inflation....or anything else.....they are facts of life, face it....if we were all in the same position financially...who would fix your car, do you dry cleaning. take your money for the groceries you just bought, take your order at the restaurant??

I think the issue of exploitation is a different issue entirely. Even at the minimum range of $200 in Toronto, there should be enough cash for everybody. But if the agency or controllers take 90%, of $200 or of $500, then it is pure exploitation.

Are you suggesting the average rate in the GTA is not high enough and therefore the "hobbyists" should deserve to be gouged like the oil companies do to the car owners?

I get what he says perfectly clear. And I understand you have every reason to defend the issue.

Personally, I have better ideas on spending the same money on more "constructive" and "appreciative" things than spending time with upscale SPs just a day or a couple of hours.

And like the other fellow SPs said here at the board, those so-called upscale SPs make other SPs sounds "cheap", which is not the case whatsoever.

Yes, exploitation is a different issue.

And the only "solution" to the upscale SPs issue will be decriminalizing and legitimizing the "industries".

I completely agree with you . What she doesn't seem to get is that others have different standards of what things are worth.

Despite the fact that Ms. C Ashton is extremely vocal in defending the issue, we know and understand the reasons why she stands firm.

It's one thing to show different points to view on the same issue.

It's totally different matter when one side discredit your idea, then make a mockery on your belief and values, and then draw a conclusion saying you don't get it or you have sour grapes.

Raise the rates to an obscene amount of money and then her introductory fees looks like a bargin. Somebody must be a marketing genius there. The psychology of marketing. LOL.
Not genius anymore now that the lovely Ms. Taylor shows us the secret of the scheme.

I won't be surprised to know there are some hot shots who will take the bait. They take it because,

a) they want to show they can burn that kind of money if they want to. It's an ego trip.

b) the brain down there has more oxygen than the one on top :D!

In any case, God blesses them!

I agree we all different viewpoints. I think she should realize some people do have a set of values and don't discount it as sour grapes.

And showing a different point of view or disagreement on the belief don't equal to undercut the businesses of upscale SPs like AP and Ashton.

Canada is a free society and there are always guys who are willing to pay obscene and outragious amount to the upscale SP and there's always a niche market.

When it comes to egos insecurities, there are no difference between superrich and the average Joes. The only difference may be the average Joes will not display their "inadquacy" so explicitly while the superrich or presumely highly leveraged superrich wannabe will do it in high profile.
