Ok, I got this text today from Ashley Millions stating she was available today at a location on Bloor St.

I don't even recall ever texting her but she sent out a broadcast text.

My question to you is, if you have not text an SP recently what is the time frame to which you should not expect a reply?

Should SP's be sending out unsolicited texts

My vote is no. Am I wrong?

I would like to hear from other SP's too.

I have about 5-6 who can text me whenever...but they all know its only a.."Hey"..first
When I respond..then it might be a ..
Im in the area
Im free for coffee
Busy?
They know if I can ..I'll set something up with them...
What I dont like is someone texting me who I have never contacted prior, and using my board handle.
How the fuck she got my # is still up for debate, because I know I didnt give it to her!!

Unless it's someone you have an ongoing sp relationship with, then my opinion is that you should NEVER get unsolicited texts from an sp.
Agreed.

Even though receiving unsolicited texts is not a problem for me, I still say that receiving self promoting texts from an SP I may have seen some time ago is wrong unless the client has given them permission to do so. Every client's situation is different and the SP needs to understand, respect and adjust to that situation. This business is about discretion after all.

Aren't self-promoting text messages from any SP kind of a turn-off anyway? If it were me getting the text, I'd think that it was kind of like a money grab unless they were actually just saying hello.
There could be situations where the SP travels and is not always in the area. The client might be ok with the SP texting him when she's in town and letting him know where she is. Again, would have to be agreed to. If not agreed to prior to the texting, yes, you are right, it would be a turn-off.

This is why hobbyists who want to keep their hobby discrete should have a separate hobby phone. Turn it off and hide it when you're not using it for this express purpose. That way, it doesn't matter whether it's right or wrong if an SP does this kind of thing, the important thing is it can't hurt you.

so here are my $0.02

I made a call/ send a follow up text to an indy that was close to my stomping grounds. She did not respond, so i deleted the message and i moved on. 3 days later, i get a message "hey hun"... out of the blue

Now luckily my SO is not attached to my hip (and happened to be out of the house when this happened), and my phone has a password.. but say my phone was on a counter in the kitchen when i was in the bathroom draining the anaconda and my SO saw a text come in from an unsaved contact.. and she got curious and asked who that was... or better yet, called that # from her phone..

Shit could have become real, real fast!

This almost makes me want to re-launch my burner phone just to avoid these scares

p.s please do not ask me who the girl is. i think shes a great girl, but young and likely still learning.

So sorry mate! Sounds like you have relationship and bowel problems; and you've chosen to shit close to where you eat.You might want to re-think what you're doing.

I have also had SP's call me and ask if I was interested in dropping by, sometimes I was other times not. I felt kind of weird about the calls but when I was horny and available the timing was great.

I had a huge problem with Olina's Spa on Danforth. Txt's - photo txt's....one time a call. I think the problem is solved now but this went on for almost nine months. Over the nine months it was about five incidents "only." I couldn't go the burner phone route, my SO would definitely know something was going on. Easier to explain a bullshit out of the blue text of a chick my SO would joke is waaaaay out of my league...lol.

Had a big problem with unsolicited texts about a year ago. Although I didn't have an SO at the time, it did present itself with a whole different set of problems.

I saw an indy-girl a few times with an (unbeknownst to me at the time) affiliation with less than scrupulous individuals... At first things were going nicely, but then it got ugly when she started to get VERY protective of my other hobby endeavors!

Anyway, I stopped seeing her immediately, and it turned VERY ugly VERY fast, and I got lots of very threatening texts every time she came to this area.

Finally had change my number to stop the bullshit. :frusty:

Wow. I always had a weird feeling so never booked her whenever she visits this area. Funny, a SP being jealous that you were seeing other SPs!!!!!!!!

Got a text saying "two new nude pictures in my profile" from someone I didn't even know (cold call) my wife saw it and i had some explaining to do. Now I bring it up with others in her presence (who have also gotten unsolicited texts and I know don't hobby) so that if I do get a text from a SP I know I have plausible denial.

I actually am reluctant to reply to a text I have missed coming in. It means I probably seem like a bit of a bitch for not bothering to reply.

If I do reply it tends to be a "sorry I missed this coming in".

Then it can be left in any way it needs to be.
