I am starting a new job where I will be managing mostly female subordinates. A couple of them are very attractive. I have been told that pursuing a relationship with a worker that you supervise is a big no-no.

Should I pursue?

he should take advantage of the situation. it's not often a gift like this comes around.. even if he get's fired or charged, it would be a great story he could tell to all his friends... :D

Um-

ON the News they did a story about that. Apparently the no dating those you work with is unconstitional; but of course dangerous for other reasons. On the program they said you now sign a dating contract to say your ok with the whole idea. Anyway I guess you can look into it.

You start seeing someone who works for you.
She starts thinking that she should be treated specially.
You do give her special treatment, because you love getting the pussy.
You both try to hide the relationship.
Everybody at the worksite knows about it anyway.
Any benefit she gets will be attributed to your relationship by her co workers, whether its true or not.
Her work production goes down the tubes and there is nothing you can do about it.
Any discipline or performance action you try to give to any employee will be met by the charge that you created a hostile work environment by your relationship.
You will eventually find out that the only reason the woman was interested in you was because you had power over her at the time.
There are millions of women in this world, don't mess with the ones you supervise.
To put it crudely, don't shit where you eat.

LOL what he said.....

I'd also like to add that you DO open yourself up to a sexual harassment case BIGTIME.

It is different if you're both in different departments, or on the same level of hierarchy but when you directly supervise one? Egads you're playing russian roulette with an automatic.

As much as I hate to say it, I agree with Fuji on this one!!!

I've had an on-going affair with a woman at work for nearly two years now. We were equals at the time, but now she's a level above me. That's not such a problem except that she reports directly to people that are MANY levels above both of us. So she has a lot of influence.

To call a spade a spade, I'm her bitch. She's attached, so it's not as bad as it could be. However, there's no way I can end things and not get fucked over by her. If you haven't dated an attached woman, you may be surprised to find out that they can be more possessive than single women that you date. So, all other women at work are now off limits. We have some friends in common outside of work too, so I have to be careful about how I behave when I'm partying.

Don't get me wrong... she's very hot, and the sex is awesome. However, do I wish I had just kept it in my pants to begin with? YES!

Absolutely!! Not only may you end up looking for a new job, but may also end up with a court judgement against you for a very great deal of money!:(

I recently faced a similar dilemma. Someone I supervise is a great person, attractive and has the most awesome ass. She's been sending out some major signals recently. She 's lso attached, as am I . I looked at the situation, and decided that thsi is one hell of a minefield. I still enjoy her occasional flirting, as it is a great ego boost, but will never cross the line.

Can I have her?

A little bit of chlorine and it's all good.

But take it from someone who has been there quit now or forget about doing them

With a coworker is fine, but with a subordinate is not right, at least not unless she totally initiates it. Better to start with a girl you are fucking, and then hire her, than the other way around.

You're still going to be exposed to significant legal risk.

Perhaps a slightly better case can be made one way than the other, but it would be much wiser not to get into such a situation.

Try to confine workplace relationships to those over whom you have no direct supervision, and those who are not directly your supervisors.
