Franklin needs to retire. He showed me nothing in his fights against Silva.
Yes, Silva's a class above everyone, but Franklin's just way to slow.

If Rich Franklin needs to retire, then Mark Coleman really, really needs to retire. When I picture him, I picture that kick in the head where he got knocked out cold.

Anbody see the UFC behind the scene's/all access pass show on Sportnet last night?

Who was the girl interviewing Franklin? In the intro, she was in her bra and panties getting ready to go over Franklin's house.

She dressed up like a skank....I loved it!

I'll bet for Rich Franklin to win this one. He's much taller and stronger, he'll use his reach advantage to confuse Dan.

Dan Henderson by knockout - overhand right.

Shogun by brutal beatdown. I'm worried he may be DQ'd for using Pride stomps on a downed opponent!

I'm ambivalent about the rest of the card.

155 lbs.: Nate Mohr (8-5) vs. Dennis Siver (12-6)

my predictions of the winners:

Henderson
Rua Kang
Davis
Horn

I don't know enough of the guys on the undercard to make any predictions. I can't see Franklin ever holding the belt again.

My predictions:

Hendo vs Franklin
I say Hendo by KO...One Hendo's looping punches connects with Franklin's chin...Either that or he wins by decision...
A big factor could Hendo's age and conditioning...If Franklin can pressure Henderson for the whole fight and tire him out he might be able to pull of a Decision....

Shogun vs Coleman
If its the Shogun of old (hopefully) then Rua should win this fight pretty easily...Second round TKO from knees to head from the clinch...

Kang vs Belcher
Kang by submission in the third round...

Lytle vs Davis
Lytle by Decision

Palhares vs Horn
Palhares by Submssion in the second

Kampmann vs Barros
Kampann KOs Barros in the first

Schafer vs Mendes
Schafer by submission in the second.....

The rest I don't know and don't care....Most of them are unknown Euro fighters put in UFC 93 to draw European interest into the event....

So in all the years that Franklin dominated as the champ and in the fights after Silva in which he dominated as well means nothing? He needs to retire just because he can't beat a guy that no one on the planet can?

Franklin is still a top 5 fighter in his weight class. If anyone should retire, it's Coleman. I'm afraid to see what's going to happen to him if he gets the REAL Shogun on Saturday night.

In the moment
I believe Franklin

Has the better stand up, but as for strength that no doubt goes to Hendo. If he gets Rich in a clinch, good bye!
Hendo is a beast in the clinch. Not sure if you saw in his fight against Anderson Silva, but until he got careless, he was owning ANderson SIlva, he completely dominated him in strength...and ANderson SIlva dominated Rich in strength department.

I predict Hendo by G-N-P

Main event:

205 lbs.: Rich Franklin (24-3) vs. Dan Henderson (23-7)

Dan Henderson by split decision 29-28, 27-30, 29-28. Close fight, could have gone either way. Henderson controlled the first two rounds with his wrestling. I think this was a fight that should have been a five-rounder (yes I know that only championship fights go five, but still...) Nasty eye poke in the third round. Ouch!

Main card (Televised):

205 lbs.: Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (16-3) vs. Mark Coleman (15-8)
Shogun by late 3rd round TKO. Both men were gassed after the first round. This fight did not elevate Shogun.

185 lbs.: Denis Kang (31-10-1) vs. Alan Belcher (13-5)
Belcher by guillotine in round 2. Kang isn't a great fighter, so this isn't as big an upset as one would think...

170 lbs.: Marcus Davis (15–4) vs. Chris Lytle (26-16–5)
Davis by split decision. Decent fight, but not the exciting war I thought it'd be...

185 lbs.: Rousimar Palhares (8-2) vs. Jeremy Horn (80-18-5)
Palhares by unimpressive decision. Horn is too slick to beat up unless it's a devasting striker, so it's hard to judge Palhares.

Under card (May not be broadcast):

170 lbs.: Martin Kampmann (13-2) vs. Alexandre Barros (13-5)
Kampman by TKO round two.

205 lbs.: Eric Schafer vs. Antonio Mendes (15–3)
Schafer by G'n'P TKO in 1st round - Mendes looked like an amateur.

205 lbs.: Ivan Serati (10-2) vs. Tomasz Drwal (14-2)
Drwal by G'n'P beatdown in 2 minutes.

170 lbs.: Thomas Egan (3-0) vs. John Hathaway (9-0)
Hathaway took Egan down at will. G'n'P tko 1st round.

155 lbs.: Nate Mohr (8-5) vs. Dennis Siver (12-6)
Siver by TKO in 3rd round

100% very lame. Absolutely no appeal at all.
I had high hopes for the Shogun/Coleman but it was shockingly bad. Both were kinda outta shape!
Franklin needs to quietly fade away and make some more B movies I guess.
Henderson? Really? He's the "challenge" for Rashad? Please.
Worst PPV in a looooooooooong time.
Luckily I watched it for free.

Shogun just isn't Shogun anymore. I mean if Coleman just rides him out for the last 1:30 of the last round he might have won that fight with all the takedowns he had and the UFC scoring system. I also read that the UFC was considering to match Shogun against Rampage next. Shogun will get literally killed at this point.

Lytle gets my stupidest fighter in MMA award. With honourable mention to Nick Diaz of course. He always fights to his opponets strengths and accordingly loses alot of close decisions. Tonight was no exception he boxed with a boxer. Bright.

Note to jeremy Horn, it's over. After all this time and over 100 fights he still has no standup and this ain't 1999. Please call it a career and just coach.

Is Kang the real deal or not? He's looking great and in control and then before you know he's getting guillotined from a shoot attempt. That should never happen to a bjj blackbelt at this level. I'm sure he is disgusted in himself as he should be.

Franklin a tough dude. He took that finger deep in his eye but didn't want to stop. I give him credit he is a gamer. I guess Hendo won the fight but just barely and if this goes 5 rounds he would have lost. No doubt about it, Franklin was coming on. Either way I don't think Evans has much to worry about.

i only caught the final two fights. i should have saved my gas and watched a seinfeld repeat instead.

was shogun paid not to annihilate coleman in the first round??? that fight was painful to watch. coleman really needs to retire for good this time!!!! what happened to the vicious shogun from pride with the air jordan style flying knees???

Dana is now saying that Shogun gets Liddell next. Well at least thats better than Rampage. He's still going to lose though.

Haven't seen the whole event but I saw the the three main fights.....

Shogun had flashes of brilliance but he's got to work on his cardio....Hopefully he can work on his endurance and become a force in the UFC.....

Kang....That guy used to look so sharp but he's suffers from costly mental errors....Like the time he got triangled by Moussasi in the Dream Middleweight Tournament..He's a blackbelt in BJJ and he has been submitted pretty easily in his last two fights...

Hendo and Rich....Both guys are still no match for Silva but Hendo and Bisping will be an interesting fight (and the next The Ultimate Fighter should be interesting with the UK vs USA theme)....

And if Shogun can work his cardio his fight against the Iceman should be entertaining...

Henderson is not challenging to fight at 205...
Hendo is staying at 185....
He's gonna fight Bisping and try to make his way back to fighting Anderson Silva....
