Honestly on paper this is not exactly a stacked card as they like to say.

Fitch vs Penn.......Fitch in another 3 round grind.

Bisping vs Rivera.. Bisping by UD.

Siver vs Sotiropoulos. Sotiropoulos bt first round sub.

Lytle vs Ebersole... Lytle by 2nd round Ko.

Camozzi vs Noke.... Noke 3rd round stoppage.

Last year's Australia show wasn't exactly stacked either, but it still sold out extremely quickly and it delivered. Wanderlei proved he wasn't entirely washed up, and Velasquez beat a big name in Big Nog to put himself in the mix. His resume before that, while near perfect (7-0, 86% KO ratio), lacked some OOMPF. Look at Cain now.

The main event this year has the similar potential to set up something big later in 2011 (but you're probably right that it'll be a total bore). The co-main, I could care less about (which probably means it will wind up being Fight of the Night), and I think you're dead on about Sotiropoulos in 1. Quite frankly, I'm surprised Joe Silva hasn't put him up against some bigger names. He's nowhere on anyone's Top 10 and he's long overdue the opportunity to prove he belongs there.

I really think GSP holds that distinction right now.

I hope Bisping loses, he's so boring to watch. Like GSP he's another one who hits you with 70 power shots but cant KO you.

Straight from the get-go it was boring and predictable

Bisping proves that he is the biggest asshat in the sport on par with Lesnar and Serra.
Apparently, after the fight he spit on someone at ringside.

Penn and Fitch prove that they are in no way ready for GSP - a majority decision?

Going to have to disgree with your assessmnet.

The Mark Hunt KO was legendary as I have never seen a walkoff KO before.

Ebersole was a pleasure to watch as he came in as a late replacement and totally frustrated Lytle.

Bisping love him or hat him as positioned himself as the most hated heel in the UFC and the best thing is that it's not a work this is really him. Also he is never in a boring match when you think about it.

I loved BJ's gameplan as he tried to out wrestle Fitch and it almost worked until he got taken down and dominated in the third. Two judges gave fitch a 10-8 round in the third and thus he gained a majority draw. MMA scoring has always been debateable and this just threw more gas on the fire.

Sotiropoulos couldn't take Siver down and got dropped twice in the first and couldn't come back.

Most of the results of this card spelled disaster for the fighters and their title hopes. Penn,Fitch,Sotiropoulos all had their title plans derailed and Lylte will have to work his way back up again.
