If your implying that this reduces the buy out and the future cap hit, absolutely not.

The fact that his market value of 2.25 year is much greater then the opportunity cost of Keeping Tucker which was $1 million (3 million less 2 million buyout) implies once again that Fletcher iis way past his mental prime (unless of course he was such a major distraction then I will give Fletch a pass).

Fletcher might as well have kept Darcy - word is the Buds are very interested in Avery, except Avery is looking for long term around $4M a year, so expect to see him sign in Toronto for 6 years for $30M !!!

If the Leafs kept DT and he doesn't have it anymore, they can't move him, so what the hell would they do? They are better off without him.

Tucker still has game left in him... he just got too comfortable in Toronto. Tucker plays best when he is considered the underdog or he is pissed off, he does not know any other way of playing. I think he will have a very good year.
