If this was a legit audit, I don't think anyone would be that upset. I mean, I think we can all believe the US government gets hosed by contractors. Didn't Boeing famously charge them $800 for toilet seats or $1,110 for a screwdriver? I'm sure there is waste of some kind. But when you make stories up and people believe them (like $600M for sushi by the Pentagon, or this Clinton lie), you sort of lose credibility for anything....
And, isn't it odd that Musk is shutting down inspector generals who were investigating StarLink and SpaceX, which raises some serious questions...Or looking to shutter OSHA, when Tesla and SpaceX are also being investigated for unsafe work practices....But you are not suspiciously when Musk gets (then doesn't get) a $400M contract for armoured vehicles...The problem here is that you get all excited when these cuts might hurt poor people or foreign aid, but ignore any grifting and what not if Trump does it.
And, please start a GoFund Me. I mean, you might not look like a bigger buffoon then you do now, but you could prove me wrong....
