Except some of Trump's base will peel away if he creates riots. He'd be left with the 5% of the population that are dumb assholes who believe in conspiracy theories and make trouble.

It's a win for the DoJ.
Rump has been trying to lay the ground for this already, this week during an interview he admitted he's paying some of the Jan 6 crowd and promises to pardon them all if he returns to power.
Without that, even the 5% of the population who back him would be seriously wondering if they want to end up in jail with the first of rump's mob.

As it is, even with all the threats I wonder how many of the deplorables would actually take up arms against Americans.

The folders would all have had identification numbers and their would be records of what was supposed to be in them, from what I've read.
The CIA will know what is missing.

As Geizz Romo said, " Isn't it amazing Petey".

Just think with the data at their disposal the Saudis will be able to kill millions, not thousands.

Lest we forget, 2996 citizens lost their lives during 9/11.

lawyers should be lose their tickets for gross incompetence.
Just read Trump's briefs in the arguments on the FBI raid. They make little legal sense, was initially filed in the wrong court and are mostly a rant that is not relevant to the case.

Many law professors said if a student of them would have done such briefs they would have failed the class. Other lawyers have also commented they obviously are from very weird lawyers - the only clown car of lawyers he can get since legitimate criminal lawyers want nothing to do with Trump and Trump has a history of not paying lawyer billings. Rudy has already been suspended his law license for lies in his deposition and his statement he just passes on what he hears from clients and has no obligation to verify if true or not.

And the lawyer in the Dominium Canada voting machine wild stories. In her deposition, she said that was just wild talk she heard and her defense was no one would actually believe the conspiracy stuff. That was her defense, free speech can say anything folks like, doesn't have to be truthful. READ it in the public transcript!!

Yes, folders are reusable, it is hard to believe that the POTUS would have a stack of empty folders. It is hard to believe that he took a bunch of empty folders home as a dinner party show and tell. Folders themselves is not the issue, if content inside is actually missing, that is worse than all the material recovered by the FBI
The "reusable" bit references how there are some that are just generic and some aren't (they list what is supposed to be inside).
We don't know which these were.

We also don't know if these are the leftovers from the boxes they returned in January.

Yes, but if you follow the people commenting from the court room it is clear the judge is doing everything she can to find a way to agree with the Trump briefs anyway.
(Somewhat constrained by trying to not look like a complete idiot or partisan hack.)

The point of the filing was not to win the case but rather to rile the base and create more fundraising/grifting opportunities and the lemmings including those on this board who blindly follow him are too dumb and gullible to see that.

Do you think that if the folders has always been empty he or his lawyers might have mentioned it before the inventory was released? Please lets get real here.
I'd be surprised if Trumps lawyer has a clue what trump took.

Heard someone discussing the special deference that everybody is treating the cocksucker in chief with. Now this....
Judge grants Trump's request for special master to review documents seized from Mar-a-Lago | CBC News
Yes, MAGA judge Cannon declared that the FBI/DOJ don't represent the executive, rump does.
Cannon was appointed in rump's last week, if the DOJ appeals it goes to the 11th circuit, where 6 rump appointed judges sit.
Do you just wait out the 4-6 weeks this adds?

Rump is tryin' to ride this delaying tactic right into the 2024 election. They should nail him for the Georgia phone call . That should be enough to disqualify him from running for dog catcher, let alone President.

Now it was revealed he had nuclear documents about the capabilities of a foreign country so classified most of the Biden administration isn't even cleared to view it. Wonder what he was doing with those ?
