Whether one likes the donald or not (I am on the 'not' side), what is more relevant is the fact so many millions of Americans voted for him. What is equally concerning is the fact that so many non Americans seem to also support him.

That is the overriding issue. Why any reasonable, intelligent person thinks the donald would ever do anything for them over himself is beyond my ken. I am of the opinion that everyone has the right to their own opinion, whether I agree with them or not. But trying to have a reasonable discussion with those that believe the donald's many, many lies and how he is working only for them is completely impossible.

It seems that there is a major societal shift happening in the US and here in Canada (as well as the rest of the world) and the long term prognosis is really not very good for society in general. Over the years I have tried having discussions here with many .... those I agreed with and those that I didn't. The only thing I got out of any of that is my great concern for the future of our society.

I am not trying to start any discussion. I am simply expressing my general concerns for the future of democracy. A Healthy New Year to all! I just can't find any happiness in it.
