This is a kick in the groin for Trump. But does he expect Canada to bow to every one of his absurdities?

On June 30, 2025, Canada made a historic move that sent shockwaves through Washington: its first-ever LNG shipment to Asia, bypassing U.S. pipelines entirely. As Trump’s 10% gas tariffs backfired, Canada opened a $40 billion energy corridor straight to China, Japan, and South Korea—three of the world’s biggest LNG buyers. With 170 annual voyages planned and U.S. exports sidelined, the energy map is being redrawn. Why is this such a big deal for America’s economy, and how could this spark the next trade war? Watch the full breakdown now and find out what this means for global power, U.S. jobs, and energy security!

But this is just the beginning of Canada finding other markets around the Globe, while States that depended on Canadian imports are now going to bear the consequences of Trump's Tariffs!!

Wait a minute the Liberals darling Justin Trudeau once said there’s “no business case” for LNG.

Where's Steven Guilbeault and the rest of the Liberal climate cult on this one, lol.

Once again Carney is running Conservative policies.

Say what you will about Carney. He is a much more politically savvy operator than Trudeau ever was. He's basically taking the conservatives platform and enacting it so in the event his government loses a no confidence vote in the house he can point to all the things he did while PP kvetches on the sidelines

He sure isn't acting like a conservative on the immigration policy is he, or the crime problem, or the housing problem, or the drug problem?

Oh I think he and his strategists are brilliant...He's effectively pulled the tablecloth off the table and left all of his acolytes still on it...And best of all is that they still think they're progressive Liberals.

Poilievre and his crew must be just stunned right now. What's their platform now?

Once again Carney is running Conservative policies.
That is because he is not a conservative and he is enacting liberal policy.

so despite his oath of office, his motivation is to ensure political victory / power rather than act in the best interests of Canadians

Some people don't consume information very well...At least you seem to aware of your issue.
Hopefully things improve for you.
Yes it is difficult to consume information when there is no information.
And things are looking bright for me, but not so much for you.
Enjoy your 4th liberal term and get ready for the 5th! lmfao.

If I were Carney I would have one-upped Trump when he threatened sanctions.

Put a 20% Federal export tariff on sour crude coming out of Alberta. Say for an initial 6 month period.. then see how things flesh out in other Trump Bozo Deals. Then if Trump is still fucking around, extend them for another 6 months. Keep the American refineries on shaky ground. If there is any industry in the US that could MAKE the stubborn ignoranus do what they say... it's the oil industry. And ONE thing that American's will not stand for, epecially BIG TRUCK driving MAGAt's is expensive gasoline! For some reason, THAT raises their hackles.

There are many refineries in the United States that can only operate on our tarsands, crude oil. And they CANNOT afford to shut down so they would have to pay the 20% export levy... right into the Federal treasury.

Guaranteed the simpleton know-it-all Trump would first say, "That's fine, we have plenty of oil here in America".

Then someone would tell him that the refineries that are hooked up to, and refine Alberta crude, can't just hook up to and run sweet Permein Basin crude.

And that it it would take years and years to find a new refinery site, then build it, then tens of billions to decommission the old refineries. Never mind clean up the environmental wasteland of the old refinery. Trump wouldn't give a shit.

Carney could backstop/guarantee Alberta, their oil industry and workers etc against any temporary slowdown using the 20% tariff.

I''d have done the same thing with Quebec aluminium. Beat him to the punch by applying EXPORT tarrifs. Same with Canadian electricity exports.

Could still be done. The US NEEDS our hydro and aluminium and would have NO CHOICE but to pay up.

It's clear that Trump's real motive for all these tarrifs is that he has convinced the gullible Americans that CHYNA and Canada and Europe pay the tarrifs. When in fact, it is a consumption tax, ultimately paid by American consumers. Trump is a genius of a confidence man. Genius.
