Not surprising that Trump is the biggest hypocrite in American politics.
Actually, Trump does NOT employ illegal immigrants,...but lets not bother with the facts now,...why change,...right.

Are you reading a different article?

"Interviews with about 15 laborers helping renovate the Old Post Office Pavilion revealed that many of them had crossed the U.S-Mexico border illegally before they eventually settled in the Washington region to build new lives.

Several of the men, who hail mostly from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, have earned U.S. citizenship or legal status through immigration programs targeting Central Americans fleeing civil wars or natural disasters. Others quietly acknowledged that they remain in the country illegally. "

OK,...I'll try to enlighten the 3 of you here,...what companies do the "illegals" work for,...???

And contrary to the simple minded here, I and maybe even Trump do NOT have issues with ANY specific south american nationals, the Mexicans make our Unifool led "workers" look like losers in auto plants in mexico, and deserve the jobs they have there,...

AND,...settled immigrants as you mentioned,.... are much more employable, and add more to the GDP, than the arts students the loony left have been turning out,...so don't bring up any anti-immigrant bull shit either.

So because these illegals don't get a paycheque that says 'Donald Trump' on it means that Donald Trump is not employing them, right?

Ultimately they work for Donald Trump. They are employed through shell firms designed to give Trump the ability to deny he hires illegal workers.

This is why the racists only want "fines"--you fine the shell company, it declares bankruptcy, never pays the find me, then Trump sets up a different shell company and rehires the same illegals.

Unless you bring criminal penalties against the directors and executives of the work site itself you won't get to guys like Trump who hide behind a shadowy corporate structure.

Trump knows very well that he is employing illegal workers.

No wonder your reputation here is worthless,...all you do is make baseless statements with NOTHING to back it up.

For you to say that,..."Trump knows very well that he is employing illegal workers",...to work in construction on one of his buildings,...fricken ridiculous,...even for you.

Name your so called "shell" company that the "illegals" work for,...if you can't,... then just go on being fuji.

"a shadowy corporate structure",....that is precious.:biggrin1:

Read the Washington Post article.

The ONLY solution to the web of temporary worker companies, designed to shield the ultimate contractor (Trump) from directly hiring illegal workers, is to make it a felony to allow an illegal worker to work on the premise of your job site.

Throw in jail the directors of the senior contractor or ultimate employer who had ultimate control of the worksite and illegal immigration will end overnight. You could remove the border fence and cut USCIS border patrols in half and still the illegal workers wouldn't come--there'd be no jobs for them.

Ultimately the employer is responsible for work done by the contractor as well as the contractor's employees that are on site. They should have conducted a background check like all the responsible companies do in case of criminal activities etc. that take place on their site. So it's no excuse to mention that the illegal workers were the contractor's employees and they knew nothing about it.

What on earth are you talking about? Developers do not do background checks on the employees of the construction firms they contract with.

The construction contracts between developers and contractors make the contractors responsible for complying with employment laws, and makes them liable for any delays or costs associated with not complying with such laws.

Trump chooses not to because he knows if he did he would find a lot of illegal immigrants and he doesn't want to drive up his costs by hiring Americans.

You've got to be kidding me.

Did you buy a cup of coffee this morning? How about a newspaper? Did you make the guy serving you show you his immigration papers?

The people who invest the most time in attacking Trump (or obsessing over anything else, for that matter) can never seem to draw a line at what would be legitimate criticism (despite the numerous positions of Trump that one could legitimately take issue with).

Fuji, please tell me you're not serious this time!

If I owned the coffee shop I would. These people are coming to work on Trump properties on projects paid for by Trump to do work planned and requested by Trump as subcontractors of Trump companies and he looks the other way.

You do understand that the term "subcontractors of Trump companies" means that their employees are not Trump employees, don't you?

You do understand that they are on a Trump site doing work for Trump? Hiding behind a murky corporate structure is no excuse.

Pass a law making what Trump is doing there a felony and illegal immigration would end instantly. Put in jail the directors of any senior contractor who allows illegals into a job site. Easy for the senior contractor to ensure that all subcontractors comply with labor law if they want to.

Trump doesn't want to. He wants to pay less by hiring illegals. He chooses not to check the work authorizations of people on his site. He looks the other way.
