We have hammered around on Stephen Harper for 10 years, pointing out every little thing about him we did not like.

So let's make this thread about the expenses/costing that relate to anything the Liberals were planning to give us financially.

1) After meeting with Trudeau, Kathleen Wynne announces she will allow land transfer taxes to double in outlying municipalities. A cost to the taxpayer, while attributable to Wynne, was resultant after the Trudeau meeting. I think Wynne calls it a revenue tool.

2) After meeting with Trudeau, Wynne promptly hints that the ORPP may be dead. Why? Be Use Trudeau is going to put more cash in the federal plan, and drop the retirement age back to 65. These are costs that were not campaigned on, but will undoubtedly go to the 10 billion dollar line item in the deficit.

1) cooling down speculation on a real estate market that is probably a massive bubble isn't too bad an idea.
2) good news. Its much better if we just restore CPP then let the provinces try to patch the holes created by Harper.

Thanks for sharing.

1) In fact all Queen's Park proposes is to allow other municipalities to set up Land Transfer Taxes like Toronto's, if they choose to. Local politics is much easier to infuence, fm. Stop trying to blame the feds for this and head down to your local City Hall. If that's in TO, remember Robbo promised to eliminate that tax, but then discovered he would never balance the books without it. And then he raised the property tax.

2) If you'd paid better attention, Trudeau did nothing to make the ORPP less likely, except to promise he'd make the CRA/CPP collection machinery available to save everyone the useless extra expense that Harper had vowed to run up as high as possible. But both Preems said the two plans will run parallel for the forseeable future, just as SaskPP and QPP do. If we didn't periodically have to halt forward progress to fill the potholes and patch the ruts that pennywise Cons keep leaving for future generations we might be farther along on pensions already. Like not being in the bottom 10 OECD countries.

Cooling off a housing market is
a) not the responsibility of either the PM or the premier. (You left wing nuts think you can micromanage an economy )
b) not their objective. Are you that stupid you do not recognise a revenue tool when it is placed in front of you

Restore CPP
Wynn says we do not save enough , however as you can see she will apply revenue tools to ensure we do not save

The economy is not the responsibility of politicians. Full stop. Unless there are extraordinary circumstances.

Most developed nations economies have a public sector and a private sector. The private sector is far larger and is the main engine for growth.

Does the government have a responsibility for the private sector economy? Why yes! Lower taxes, less regulations. While we at it, cut the public sector. Too many civil servants just a drain on government resources and the taxpayer.

Respect the taxpayer.

This is probably not the type of government responsibility to the economy you're thinking about.
