Trip To Dominican Republic

I was planning my first trip to the Dominican Republic later this month, but I don't know where to start. What is the best city to go to to get the hottest action, and what are the reputable outcall and incall and other establishments to visit/use. I was considering some of the all inclusive resort locations but I'm not sure if thats the best way to go. If there are any Dominican Republic frequent visitors who can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it

PS if anyone can point out a good adult DR message board or forum I'd greatly appreciate that too

I frequent the dominican atleast 3 times a year and let me tell ya boca chica is my favorite for sure. Beautiful beaches and friendly people.nightlife is also very nice. got a few places to refer you to and someone to send you to who owns a very nice establishment. pm me for details.

I absolutely agree that Boca Chica is very nice. BC is the nearest beach for the folks who live in Santo Domingo so usually Sundays the beach has more people than the rest of the week. Boca Chica is 8 Km or 5 Mi from the SDQ Santo Domingo de las Americas airport.

JoeD, how is your spanish? The better your spanish is the better time you will have. For a newbi to the DR I also would recommend Black beards, just west of Puerto Plata as a place to start. It is much cheaper than some of the other options listed here. I have gone to the DR at least 5 times in each of the last 2 years. Also the site Malibook referenced is good, it mostly covers Sosua, east of Puerto Plata.

Better still, go to an all inclusive resort in Punta Cana or Puerto Plata and check out the 300lb German "whales" sunbathing topless. Not a pretty sight for someone with a weak stomach.

Boca Chica sounds great, but wasn't there some kind of crackdown there about six months ago that has affected the nightlife/hobbying there. Also, I'm flying into Santiago in the North and I think the 5 hr trip south may be too much for a first timer like myself

Question for people who have been down there:

Is it a problem bringing girls back to the room at the all-inclusive (non-adult) resorts there? Because you're looking at only about $500 or less for a late booking including food/room/flight (+$280 airport tax, which you'll pay no matter what option you choose), plus maybe $100/day for girls. It would be a much better deal than the other options.

The non all inclusive adult resorts are about $50 per night, $350 a week, but don't include meals or airfare. My understanding is that the atmosphere surrounding these areas is more Hobbying conducive, Chicas everywhere and you just have to choose one. But by the all inclusive non adult resorts even if they allow bringing girls back you still have to go out shopping for a girl and bring her back rather than have them all over the place. Anyway if that $500 rate is including airfare and hotel and food it's unbelievable and certainly worth it if you don't mind going the extra mile to find girls. PM with the details of that package as I might consider it. I'll be arriving in the DR on 1/24 and probably staying about a week if anyone wants to make a trip of it.

JoeD Which coast are you visiting? If you are coming to SDQ PM me. To best of our knowledge the North and East Coasts are fairly busy right now.

Our resort is full this week we have a party of 6 leaving and being replaced by a party of 3 plus others. We try to keep 2 room spare but it did not work out that way.

We have guests here that have been coming three times a year. This hotel blew them away.

Do it Yourself

A while ago a guest invited a friend who was in the area on his own to have dinner at our resort. The friend had been a do-it-yourself guy for eight years. The friend was impressed with the hotel and was tired of the hassle with the hotel and the girls. He was also impressed with our quality and the easy ability to change chicas for whatever or no reason. Next time he is coming with us.

I/we take reservations, either we have room available or we do not. We try to keep two rooms spare so it is likely you will be able to travel whenever you decide. If you have an question please ask it (more)directly.

I agree about Mexico but that is knee jerk reaction. I have been here for nine months and I have never felt safer. For me it is more dangerous in Toronto, Windor, Detroit, Houston, Atlanta, Boston and Miami. I have MANY friends here who are either PoliTur (Tourist Police) or Policia Nacional. Safe you bet!

Safety is a not even an issue. Are there places you should not go? Yes but we do not take you there.

Knee jerk reaction. Regardless of where you travel, common sense and respect for the locals usually will keep you safe. Messing around with a local's girl is NOT a smart thing to do.

Safety rules esp. in 3rd world or developing countries.

#1. Register with the Canadian embassy/consulate before you leave

#2. You are in a foreign land. Your rights as a Canadian does not exist outside of Canada ie free speach etc. Maybe in the Cdn consulate/embassy of the country/place where you're staying but that's about it.

#3. Don't pick fights with the local folks. You can run but you sure as heck won't know where to hide.

#4. If you travel outside the compounds of your resort esp. at night, DO NOT GET DRUNK! That's as good as hanging a sign on your neck that says "MUG ME! I'M EASY!"

#5. Not everyone that is friendly to you at a night club is a friend. Some sponge off you to get free drinks, others are sizing you up to see how easy you are to mug. Use common sense and have a wingman.

#6. Wear protection and clean underwear.

Good Advice

I agree that you offer good advice but I live and work here. Most of my friends are PoliTur including the Major for the district or Policia Nacional. I have my own driver and our hotelier has been here for 8 years. I also have friends in the Migracion department.

BTW my driver is licensed to carry a firearm!

Canadians were killed recently in the North Coast. They were not shot or mugged. Car Accident!

If you did not learn to drive here, DO NOT DRIVE HERE.
