Interestingly, I booked two rooms for our trip for the same reasons. Wanted a get out of jail card for either one of us. We spent a lot of time together but the showering, changing, and quiet time was separate which likely kept our tine together so amicable.

Absolutely- anyone who’s lived with a significant other or even had a weekend together knows how moods can change as quickly as the weather and just having a space to retreat to for recalibrating can help. It doesn’t matter how close you are everyone is human and needs quiet time (personally Im Introverted and its a need to have quiet and this can be uncomfortable for some who feel the need to talk all of the time. And most people feel exhausted if they feel they have to be in host mode for long periods of time. )
THAT seems like the PERFECT solution. Gives a bit of solace time for both. Even if things go absolutely pear shaped you both can still enjoy a vacation, but separately.
I think you mean ‘budget’ not math.
