Pretty dumb. But I guess taking testosterone isn't an illegally banned substance.
Or maybe high school athletics don't care about drugs and testing at all, so it's a free for all whatever someone wants to ingest.
Personally, I'm old school for this and think that someone should compete based on their originally documented gender. But also should be banned if they do drugs. So in my world, this person would be banned regardless of which gender they wrestled at. Then again, I don't think high schools go through the hassles of drug testing???? So even though it's obvious she's transforming there's nothing to invalidate her since there's no testing.
On another note, an example like this really puts all the politically correct stuff into a state of hilarious antics. It's pretty obvious someone bulking up on testosterone will be stronger. On one hand, maker her (him) compete as a female makes her win all the time. But changing the rules and allowing someone to compete "at the gender she believes to be" would mean she competes with the guys. But if you do that it leaves the floodgates open to allow any guy "that thinks he's a girl" compete against women and win all the time. Not that any guys would do this for sake of ego and sportsmanship, but I'm sure there will be some guys tempted to mess around and try to compete against females for the heck of it and win for fun.
So you can't have it both ways I guess. lol
