That's a good idea, to look back at these things.

Do you have census numbers for the city and the police force going back that far?

Here's the CSI going back to 1998.

I can share the Ont stats comparing 1990 to 2022

Per 100,000 pop

213 Police officers 1990
173 Police officers 2022

source: https://publications.gc.ca/collections/collection_2022/statcan/11-001/CS11-001-1991-3-7-eng.pdf

Toronto: 161 cops per 100k, in 2022.

The Toronto police budget went up something like 30% over the last while yet the number of officers stayed the same.
It must have mostly gone for DoFo's police van, paying for flying him everywhere and horses.

This is about TPS, stop trying to distract from the topic.
I believe that what he is trying to state and promote is that the TPS and it's TPA unionized staff should be funded by the taxpayers of Toronto to "fight crime and put the bad guyz in jail" not just in Toronto, but in North Bay, Charlottetown, Gaspe, Moose Jaw, Medicine Hat and throughout the rest of Canada.

You can believe that, it’s a free world, but you would be wrong. No need to be so sore.

Perhaps you can’t read nor be bothered to do basic math. Heck I even tried to give you a simple formula. All you had to do was exercise your brain a little.
not privy to their budget and all expenses.
maybe just ask yourself if violent crime rates are trending up ( yes very noticeably)…

Has head count kept pace with population growth over the past 5-10 years? Aka cops per capita

do socioeconomic factors such as poverty, substance abuse play a role? Etc and so on.

And if council or you the voters don’t think it’s affordable. No one to blame but yourself for all your wants wants wants and wants and mountains of debt.[/qoute]

Here...I'll respond like you do all the time...

Trudeau violated the Charter of Rights.

The police budget keeps going up every year while social services, like those for homeless hasn't changed in a decade.
No wonder there are so many tents in the parks.

You can view each year if you have both the time and the desire.

Doesn't look that easy to pull up with a search of police expenditures, Canada.
I suppose it is scattered throughout the site - shame there isn't a summary.
(Maybe there is, I haven't gone digging.)
