Who is the first player to play for both the Montreal Expos and the Toronto Blue Jays? (Grapefruit League games don't count).

Two hints:

He once pitched for the Expos, and also pitched for a team that won the Little League World Series in the 1950's.

If you can get this one without using a media guide or a search engine, you're good.

The only names I remember who played for both are:

John Candelaria
Rob Ducey
Darrin Fletcher
Rick Cerone
David Segui
Brad Fullmer
Tony Batista

Probably not one of these but thats all I remember.

I remember watching a game on tv a few years back and the question was asked: "Who was the first 2 players to play for both Canadian teams?"

The answer was: Hector Torres and Ron Fairly

I don't know who was the first but since Hector Torres was named first, I would say Hector Torres... hmmmm... Final answer... :p

Hector Torres it is. Well done, kirmit129!

For yesguy: The key word in the clue was "once".

Next question:

A former Blue Jay is one of only two players in Major League history to hit for the cycle in both leagues.

Hint for the former Blue Jay: Nirvana.

For full points, name them both.

This one is easy. I've been following baseball since late 1993 season. I saw the highlights when he hit for the cycle in the National league. I'm not going to give the answer but I'll add another hint.

Hint: He was part of the Jays two championships team.

Which former Blue Jays player is the first player to get 5 hits in a world series?

Hint: He was not with the Blue Jays when he accomplished the feat.

I'm assuming that's one World Series game.

You've got me on that one. My first guess is Rickey Henderson, second is Candy Maldonado.

What former Blue Jay homered in his only World Series at bat?

Hints: He didn't do it as a Jay, he also played for the Montreal Expos, and he isn't Hector Torres.

You got me there. Had you asked: "Which former Blue Jay homered in his first 2 major league at-bats?", I would have answered Brad Fullmer. I'm(well was :p ) a huge expos fan. I saw Fullmer's first 2 major league at bats on tv(saw the actual game, not the highlights). The only player that I know of who homered in his only world series at bat and played for the expos is Geoff Blum. However, I don't think he ever played for Toronto.

btw, my friend says Jim Mason. I have no idea who he is...

no and no. I would have thought that people would have success guessing it. He is, afterall, one of the best hitters in baseball history.

... ooops, maybe I said too much :p

Jim Mason, is, indeed, the former Blue Jay who homered in his only World Series at bat. Kudos to your friend for knowing that.

Who was the first player signed to a contract by the Blue Jays, (this was prior to the expansion draft).

Hint: Fix hole in cieling.

Phil Roof was, indeed, the first player signed by the Blue Jays.

What two Blue Jays homered in their first major league at bat? This only includes players who were with the Jays when they did it.

Was Al Woods one of them?

Alvis Woods and Junior Felix are, indeed, the two Blue Jays who homered in their first major league at bat.

What former NCAA star played three seasons with the Jays as his summer job?

Because he was not playing the the same sport professionally, he did not lose his eligibility under NCAA rules.

This pitcher, pummelled by the Jays in his major league debut, (3 hits, 2 of them homers, two walks, and three earned runs, without recording an out), returned to the majors two seasons later, and threw a no hitter in his first game back. Who is he?
