Toronto to Vancouver - "The Canadian"

Seems that the cabin with shower is exclusive on the Montreal to Halifax train. It looks like the cabin for 2 on the Canadian train has a separate toilet (no toilet under the foot stool), but you have to use a common shower. It really depends if having a shower in your cabin and alcohol is worth spending more than double over the Sleeper Plus cabin for 2.

Yeah I probably wouldn't. I dont even drink, so alcohol does not matter to me. But even with the cabin for 1 I would still use the common toilet I think, atleast for number 2 lol.

You can only appreciate the beautiful scenery for so long and it gets boringgggggggggg. There are long stretches of blah.

You will realize that Canada is large country with a lot places with no celluar service - bring a book and/or download good movies before going.

It's a perfect trip to completelty disconnect from the world. If you need constant stimulation or need to do something, then you'll go insane.

This is exactly my intent to do this trip. To disconnect and I actually want to do it by myself too.

I think they call it Cabin discounted and Cabin for 1 on the booking site. I think the discounted one is just a drape.

I think it's best that you call / text Via to clarify. Other than the price, I don't know if there's any difference between the discounted and non-discounted cabin. A cabin should have a locking door with a sink and toilet at least. A birth only has the drape and there will be another bunk above you.

At least there's plenty of YouTube videos out there to get a decent idea of how it's like before you spend the money.

Oh really? The youtube video I saw seems to say it has lockable doors. When did you last do this trip?

Took it Dec 2022, I have gone into others peoples cabins by mistake so they aren’t locked at least on the one I was in.

Maybe you’ll get a different one with doors you can lock.

Since I am on a luxury train travel binge right now. Came across this. The Maharaja Express is a tourist luxury train in India.

Ticket price: A luxury experience for the low price of $28,000 USD only for a suite and $50,000 USD for the presidential suite.

But on a serious note, it looks fucking incredible.

Not for the business traveler but for the rich and retired.
