No.
That's really not how polls work.
Fucking with online polls is so old there used to be a term for it called "Freeping".

It's similar to "doing your own research" so it works for that crowd. ;) 😷 😷 😷

I have none and it doesn't matter.
No online web poll is a real, scientific poll.
This is just a known fact.
There is no random sampling.
They are barely even accurate polls of the readership of a given site, since it is a self-selecting set of people who answer.

Any poll that is a twitter poll or a "have your say" poll on a web site can be ignored as anything other than click bait. (They can be useful as a measure of the opinion of your most engaged readers sometimes, though.)

I didnt think you would have evidence, and actually it does matter.
When a left-leaning newspaper shows the vast majority (74%) dont want masks mandated then its quite telling because its mostly Lefties who want a return to masks. Couple that with the CTV poll which showed over 90% dont want masks mandated and that tells you even more because CTV tends to lean right.

You have ZERO evidence these polls were "freeped". Therefore accept the results

Except it is a web poll which means only the people who bothered to answer it answered.
Which may mean left-leaning readers. It may mean right-leaning people hate reading the star.
It may mean only people who are paranoid about mask mandates and no one else bothered to answer.
It's useless.

The CTV poll - which does appear to have been a scientific poll and not a web poll - was strongly in favor of mandates.

That's 69% support for mandates.

I don't accept the results of any web poll as signifying anything important, and neither should you.

LOL....that CTV poll was a partial web poll, and it only included 1,084 Canadians.

Link: https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coron...c-spaces-if-deemed-necessary-survey-1.6144419

Nanos conducted an RDD dual frame (land- and cell-lines) hybrid telephone and online random survey of 1,084 Canadians, 18 years of age or older, between Oct. 30 and Nov. 4 as part of an omnibus survey. Participants were randomly recruited by telephone using live agents and administered a survey online

So I was at Yorkdale Mall today, and after that the Loblaws and beer store.
I counted maybe 1 out of 10 people wearing a mask. And even thats a stretch.
You would think if Health Officer strongly recommended masks, and if people were so strongly in favour of masks, there would be at least 7 out of 10 people wearing them.
And yet it wasnt 70%, it was barely 10%

Yes, exactly.
A random survey where they contacted people and asked them - not one where they left it open to whoever wanted to respond.
That's the difference
The poll is bullshit

It may well be.
I don't know how good CTV is with polls.
But they at least are presenting their poll as one conducted properly, and not as a twitter poll or open web poll
I highly doubt that 15 thousand voters in the Star poll and another 13 thousand in the CTV poll were all (or mostly) freeped voters.
Couple that with most Torontonians I saw today not wearing masks anywhere, and I think I'll go with the CTV poll you posted not being accurate.

Tell you what, I have to go into the Eaton Centre tomorrow, I'm tempted to record a video to see how many people are wearing masks.
And remember, this is after the govt issued a strong recommendation to wear masks

That won't prove anything though.
A poll of people saying they will support a mandate doesn't mean they will wear masks on a strong recommendation.

I don't think the 15 thousand people in the Star poll were freeped.
How many people read the Star online in a day? Or a week? Or however long that poll was up for?

Is 15,000 a lot of people or is it a fringe of the Star readership?

And btw, there weren't 13 thousand in the CTV poll, you said that yourself. There were 1,084.

My bad, I made a mistake on the CTV polls.
I thought they did a 2nd web poll on their own site, but it wasnt theirs.

However, my point still stands, I'm just not buying that 15,000 voters in the star poll were freeped.
And I think just dont like the results. You have freep confirmation bias :D

Believe what you like.
11,000 people out of how many hundreds of thousands of readers a day isn't really saying much.

You can’t make this up. Lol. The solution to the problem is the cause of the problem. Masks and lockdowns interfered with young childrens ability to build a healthy immune system, hence the increased in children visiting hospital. Plus, a massive shortage of every day child medication.

Feel free to wear a mask if you choose to. I personally did this week on a plane.

However, I don’t see any mandates for this.

Don't be so happy you do not see many taking up masks on their own because if the hospitals continue to be swamped, Ford will have no choice but to bring in a mask mandate. Most folks will not wear one, myself included unless it's a formal mandate and enforced.
