"A small but intense spree of violence"! A new penitentiary should be built especially for these jackasses who should be spending the next fifteen years locked up.

Just another Sat. nite in L.A. No biggie. Very tame so fare compared to other G-8 & G20 protests & riots. Canadians too lazy to do a riot.

My vote is for the TTC bus. Craptacular service that only attracts 3rd world immagrents on it. Took it last month for the first time in 20 year. Do not like to rub shoulders with those riders. Felt like I was in a 3rd world country...... some even seem mentally unstable.

How unfair, a short racist guy looking down on other people. There are several studies on this behaviour.

Interesting how a bunch of police cars were conveniently just abandoned at a major intersection with cameras everywhere, with groups of protesters nearby.

I sure am glad that if I get attacked in downtown Toronto the Toronto PD will be there in their cool new body armor to stand by and observe while I get the living shit kicked out of me.

Can't speak to the cars being "abandoned", but with the prevalance of cell phones, journalists, and people hoping to cash in by selling video of the events unfolding wouldn't it have been more peculiar had there NOT been any pictures taken?

If they were deliberately left there, it was a brilliant tactic and the protesters fell for it beautifully. Truly showed that the protest groups could not or will not control the actions of their protesters.

Do you mean to imply that destroying public property would be excusable if the car was left as bait? Even if it was left as “bait” (and so far there is no evidence of this), honest people would not burn it. That is like saying that it is OK for a student to cheat if his teaching/professor happens to leave the room during a test. The fact is that honest people would not burn the car. I don’t think you could ever argue entrapment in that case.

Don't forget the protestors were herded toward the cars by the police -- according to one report I heard -- it appeared that the police were pushing the crowd to the cars.

I would like to have the details on the cars - age and repair history and status?

Karma is a bitch....one day when these 'protesters' need the police, the police will not be available to help them...........fake violent protesters are hypocrites!!
Betcha they all have bank accounts, a social insurance number and an inferiority complex?!

Stupid protesters who used violence are now helping justify the security issues (forget about the $1 billion dollar cost).
Had they not incited violence, Canada would look like a fool to spend $1 billion on security.

Toronto just became like every other major city in the world. We lost our innocence, our virginity in the eyes of the world how sad, we were the last hold out,the last hope that somewhere in the world a city was special, differant."Toronto the Good" no more. How embaressed we should all be

Personally, I would rather overspend on security than underspend. It would have been much more embarassing, not to mention devasating, to be caught with our pants down.
