Trump HATES Bezos! Bezos always returns the favour (thru the Washington Post which he owns). Trump wants to keep jobs in America. Would love it if Bezos sticks it to trump by moving the jobs to Toronto!

Canada has a CETA agreement with Europe, so I think this will making it very interesting to put it in Canada. If the US goes very protectionist, Amazon might want to hedge its bets. Bombardier announced it is thinking of selling the Downsview location which would be an amazing opportunity for Amazon. Really a once in a lifetime. They can buy the land, develop it and sell homes to their employees making the new HQ free or actually a profit generator.

Amazon and Bezos work for the CIA. The only quarter that Amazon ever made any money was when he was gifted 600 Million dollars and ended up buying the Washington Post for 263 Million. Amazon operates at a loss each quarter. They simply borrow money at near zero interest and keep buying back their stock giving it the illusion of a profitable company. All the while squeezing out smaller players who can't operate at a loss in an attempt to create a monopoly. It also gives the Fed a place to dump US Treasuries as a buyer of last resort when Countries no longer wish to purchase US Treasuries. Just take a look at the 30 year and 10 year yield curve. If that curve gets any flatter the Bond market crashes.

Amazon and Bezos can fuck off and take their criminal organization elsewhere.

It will be in the states, because Amazon is afraid Trump will retaliate if they put it in Canada.

I agree with that. Rocking the boat is bad for business; I'd be very surprised if Toronto got it for that reason alone, despite it being a great tech center.

Anything possible in this crazy world, but I’d be very shocked.
I wish Tory would put his work into realistic duties.
No way Amazon could leave Trump’s America without major penalties.
Plus lower tax US beats higher tax Canastan.

Now the corporate tax rates are similar between the USA and Canada, when taking into account the corresponding State and Provincial corporate taxes as well.
Canada still has the advantage of having a 20% lower Canadian dollar, so the cost would be more advantageous in Canada.

Absolutely not coming here. Taxes and Union forces among the key detractors.

It's a long-shot but some pros and cons:

https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/how...other-cities-vying-for-amazon-s-hq2-1.3765552

PROS
The Canadian dollar: The loonie has been worth less than the U.S. dollar since February 2013 and is currently at about 80 cents US, giving an Toronto an edge in dollar-for-dollar labour cost comparisons with U.S. cities.

Health care: Canadian employers pay an average of 25 per cent of payroll to health care and benefits, compared with 37 per cent on average for U.S. employers. (Government statistics as of July 2017).

Skilled labour force: The Toronto bid claims more people working in computer, engineering and science than Washington, D.C., San Francisco or most other of its U.S. rivals. But New York City tops the list.

Money skills: The Toronto region claims more people working in business and financial operations than Chicago, Washington, D.C. or most of its American rivals. Again, Toronto trails only New York City.

Quality of life: Toronto was ranked 16th in Mercer's 2017 survey of world cities. The highest ranking for Toronto's remaining U.S. rivals was Boston, ranked 35th on Mercer's list.

Safety and security: Toronto was ranked fourth overall in Economist's 2017 global safe cities index, best of all North American cities. Toronto scored well on digital security, health security, infrastructure security and personal security.

CONS
Outside United States: Border crossings can be unpredictable for employees and each country has its own legal and regulatory frameworks, adding a layer of complexity.

Donald Trump: The U.S. president has been an outspoken and unpredictable force since he was elected in November 2017. The potential loss of an important job creator may provoke Trump.

Corporate taxes: While Canada and Ontario retain an edge in terms of corporate tax rates, their advantage has shrunk since Trump's recent success in slashing the U.S. corporate tax rate.

Real estate and rental prices: Toronto was recently ranked the most expensive city in Canada for rental apartments and has long been Canada's second-most expensive residential real estate.
