"The slide presentation attached to the campaign memo doesn’t show the full polling data but does show Bradford in third place with 12% support among committed voters, former police chief Mark Saunders in second with 15% support but Olivia Chow in first place with 38% support. The poll shows Josh Matlow and Ana Bailao tied for fourth at 10% support, Mitzie Hunter in fifth with 8% and Anthony Furey in sixth with 4% among committed voters."
My major concerns with a lefty mayor are higher taxes and higher crime rates. Plus, time and money will be spent debating street signs.
Higher taxes and crime rates will drive more industries/people out of Toronto.
Too bad John Tory isn't running.

Maybe she can stand up to Ford and make him pay for all the Metrolinx and TTC upgrades.
Likely Ford will try to undo the strong mayor legislation he put in place.

Crime ridden Chicago (murder capital of the U.S.) is an interesting case study. In the recent municipal election incumbent lefty Lori Lightfoot lost to former lefty (now centre) Brandon Johnson.

Institute road tolls for 905'ers driving into the city.
Increase parking rates for 905'ers parking within the boundaries of Toronto.
Institute a special carbon sales tax on 905'ers whose vehicles enter within the legal boundaries of Toronto.
Add a 10% litter tax on 905'ers on all sales transactions that involve an entity based in Toronto.
Adding more evidence as to the "you get the mayor u deserve' mental acuity of the dimwitted, uninvolved electorate.
And then institute massive municipal taxes for Toronto residents when the commercial tax base dries up faster than a puddle on the sun.

Ford keeps taking money out of the city.
Road tolling people (unless they are bums) is a bad idea. People come into the city to work and/or pleasure. Both are good for the economy.
With so many people working from home, there is already less money being spent in Toronto. Road tolling people will just decrease the number of people coming in. Downtown office space must be at a discount now.
